Hey now I never said I was going to remove it.
What I want to do is MOVE it from one part of my body to another.
So, remove it, then put it elsewhere.
you dig!?

Basically they use a lazer and break up the size of the ink molecules so they can be engulfed by macrophages and taken away.
A long time ago (about 10 years ago) I knew a guy at my gym who was having one removed so he could compete in posing competitions. At least in that case, there seemed to be a lot of truth in having a tattoo "burned off" with the laser. It was horrifically gross (blistered, bubbly etc.) I'd assume there may have been advances in technology since then. IMO if you can stand it, it's not worth the effort to remove it . (Also I think it's pretty damn expensive, in the thousands of dollars range, which certainly isn't covered by insurance).
Think before you ink!

I cherish my other one too, but I want to cherish this one with it.

Yes, it does work most of the time, but it'll leave an oddly colored patch of skin. This is why I don't get tats - it's practically forever.

Wait wait wait. Are you talking about actually cutting the tattoo off and grafting it to another part of your body? I'm sure it could be done, but thats some major surgery I think. You'd have to go to a plastic surgeon for somthing like that.

getting it removed in any way will probably leave a bad scar and make it bad to tattoo over again for the new one. just get the same tattoo where you want it and try to get the old one covered up, that would defientely be the least painful, cheapest, and probably hve the results closest to what you want.

from what i understand they use some sort of light/laser to break up the ink (like somebody said)
they charge by square inch or something similar and takes multiple sessions
and hurts way more than a tattoo (wallet and flesh)
as for leaving a scar I don't know but I'm sure something must get left behind a tattoo is a scar after all

I was actually one of those people who was stupid enough to get a tattoo of his girlfriends initials(Yea I'm an idiot but cut me some slack I was like 15 yrs old)Anyway,I removed it just fine with nothing but a scalpel and a pair of forceps.Thank god it was small cause I think I would have died from blood loss had it been any bigger.Surprisingly it didn't scar that bad at all but after I healed some of it started to seem to "bleep back to the surface even though I was sure I got it all .This may possibly have to to with the fact that I did the tattoo by myself in the 1st place so I doubt that I did a good job of keeping the ink in the same skin layer.By the way its not like you can just cut around the tattoo and peel the skin away, you will have to get under the whole thing and loosen it and by than your hands will be sticky and you wont be able to see what you are doing very well so keep some towels handy and be ready.Anyway I wouldn't really recommend this to anyone but if you are desperate to get rid of something like that as bad as I was it is possible.
