NorthEasters and P. Caerulipes Experts......
    #5784048 - 06/23/06 02:40 PM (17 years, 7 months ago)

Got some questions for u guys:

First, what (on average) is the farthest away from a stream that the P. Caerulipes would grow?

Second, I know they favor deciduous trees, but is there a specific species, like birch or oak, that they stick to?

Third, there is mold (?) growing on the remains of the first cluster that I found.  Will this inhibit the growth of future flushes?

And finally, I think I know the answer to this already, but what are the chances of this species growing close to a sulfer-polluted stream (from coal mining)?

I'm trying to narrow down my search parameters for tomorrow, which is when I believe they will start popping up again.  Anything you guys can educate me on, I'd appreciate it.

Hey Silver94 I don't consider myself an expert at all, but I have had luck finding these little buggers. I have found them aleast 50-100 yrds from a stream and they do tend to favor hard woods such as birch and maple. I'd say the chances of finding some are pretty damned good, considering my haul today after the rain we've had. AIM me for more info

Hey man, it sucks for me so far, i went to my spot today, and there's a friggin wedding going on!  And the reception is like, right there too, so I probly won't get to see my spot till tomorrow.  I hope nobody messes with it!

I've been lookin around for the last couple days, but I'm not really finding ANY mushrooms growing so far.  Maybe I'm too early.  :frown:
