Why do we -- US peoples -- not want to torture
    #578399 - 03/14/02 01:54 AM (21 years, 11 months ago)

these "terrorists"? We cannot, but we--the us gov--are shipping them to countries--Egypt, Isreal, etc--that we know torture for interrogation.

Do you know why you should be against this?

Come time when Us soldiers are caught, come time when Us citizens are caught, they will be tortured in response to our arrogant stupidity.

Torture is wrong under any circumstance. But, most enemies of the west already use torture, ie Iraq. Go buy yourself a copy of Bravo Two Zero, written by an SAS trooper captured by the Iraquis. See what those poor bastards were put through

Torture is more of a means to manufacture confessions/false information than a means to obtain truth. If some strange agents from the Pentagon were choking you with a wet towel on and off for 36 hours it would not be long before you exclaim "I confess..." or "I know someone..." just so they would stop.
