Ok so I found what I think looked like an active mushroom in my yard so i took some pics and did a spore print and what not.
Description:
Location: Western NY, common lawn. Habitat: Yard grass with much clover, was cut 2 days prior to finding, was part of a small mushroom cluster, high humidity, area that recieves much sunlight from sun rise until about 1 p.m. Stem: 5cm x 2mm looks light brown to almost white in some areas, seems to be hollow. Cap: 1.5cm in diameter x 7mm in height, Light tan to dark tan at the top point. Seemed to bruise a dark tan color. Gills: look dark from one angle and light tan in another. Scent: Light in scent, smells like most fungi. Spore Print: Dark Purple or Black
Heres where I found the mushroom.
A picture of the mushroom with measurements.
 Cap.
 Gills.
 Spore Print.
 Any ideas

Panaeolina foenisecii, an inactive lawn mushroom.
-------------------- Dreaming of that face again. It's bright and blue and shimmering. Grinning wide And comforting me with its three warm and wild eyes. On my back and tumbling Down that hole and back again Rising up And wiping the webs and the dew from my withered eye.

All you have to do when someone gives you a genus and species name is copy and paste it into google or whatever search engine you use. It will come up with many pages of information regarding the species.
