Ok I just got done Pcing my WBS. I had a little trouble with my PC I couldn't get it up to 15psi exactly I got it between 10 and 15 psi. It took about an hour and a half to two hours cuz I'm using a all american PC model 921 on a hot plate and not a stove. So I just PCed my jars a little bit longer than the standard time with 15 psi. My question is this: After PCing the WBS Should it be Darker looking than before you PCed it? Also I know your probably going to say it all takes time but about how long does it take to start to see growth/colonize for WBS? Would it be the same time as for BRF?-cuz I've done that before, so I know how long that takes. Thanx

I have not found the WBS to be darker after a PC. Is there any moisture left in the jar? Did you wind up roasting the grains?
As far as growth goes I'd say the general concensus here is 3-14 days with "normal" being around a week.

If the grains are jst a tinge darker then you shouldnt have any problems. My WBS looks a (little) darker after PCing but It seems to go back to normal after it cools. -Me

mine always looks darker after PC.. if you have problems with excess moisture in your jars, i put 1/4" vermiculite to 1 pint jar then fill the rest w/ WBS and put lid on and shake it up.. i dont drain my WBS after PC so itll hydrate the verm and have had no problems..
and i can see growth in about 3-4 days all depends on how hard u wanna look:)
hope that helps some.. l8r will

My WBS gets a tiny bit darker.
If you inoculate with a spore solution? You may have to wait a week, before you see colonization start.
If you inoculate with LC, you should see colonization, in about 2 days.
