Revolution vs Coup

What is the difference between these two? Here is how I see it:
A revolution begins when the existing government crosses the line and invalidates its contract with the people it governs. These people then take up arms against the government. This can often take many years and involve a lot of unecessary pain and death. Its a very ugly process which may or may not have a good resolution, depending on where the chips fall before, during, and after the struggle.
A coup on the other hand, is where a bunch of wealthy and high ranking officials within the government, acting on behalf of the oppressed people, rise up and take control of the government and set it on a new course, hopefully one that is better than before. Basically, these people build secret alliances while serving the government, then unite and show their true colors to the offending tyrants at the last minute. They basically say: "We have you syrrounded, there's nothing you can do, relinquish control to us, or we will take it by force." Often times, a coup can take place without any member of the proletariat even knowing it occured.
Looking at our government today, its obvious there needs to be a change. Legitimate methods of governmental influence such as voting and lobbying are becoming more innefective, especially for the common person.
So, which way do we go about helping our government evolve in the proper direction? Violent revolution, or bloodless coup? Personally, I would prefer the latter, as revolution can be costly and without ultimate reward.
So I say to you, those who would seek to change the world to a better place: Quell your rage, repress your desire to lash out at the system, but instead become a double agent. A secret sabotouer, working from within the system for change. Play their games, and obtain a high position within their ranks. Make alliances with those who share your agendas. Don't be a foot soldier for the revolution, instead go all the way up to the top and see what kind of damage you can do there. We can fuck up the system without violence.
"You can fuck way more shit up from inside the system than from the outside."

When Chancellor Palpatine took over control of the senate and established the Galactic Empire, it was a coup. When the Rebel Alliance overthrew the emperor and destroyed the Death Star, it was a revolution. May the force be with you.

Thats some funny shit
-------------------- “I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

not everything can be understood with star wars movies, zappa
someday, you'll be wise eough to realize this
besides, if anarchists overthrew the government, who's to say a much worse one wouldn't be erected in its place?
I say we should work within the confines of the system to change what is wrong without destroying what is right.
Just because coups are often used by fascists with fascist objectives does not make the concept of coup fascist in itself.
revolution is often used as a tool by fascists as well. does that make it fascist?
did you get that?
