Effects of salvia on true atheists

I have turned on probably two dozen people to Salvia divinorum, and while most experience full effects off one hit of 10x I have noticed that true atheists (those who refuse to believe in anything spiritual at all) seem to have a VERY high tolerance, some appear immune even to 20x (thats the highest dosage I have). Is this a coincidence? I was wondering if anyone else may have noticed this or if there are any shroomerites who do not believe in the spiritual realm who have a moderate or low tolerance.

My spiritual level is nil, but 20x extract is so strong that I find it uncomfortable. IMO, there's no correlation.

I'm also not "spiritual" and I don't have a very high tolerance for Salvia.

I have afew of my own spiritual beliefs, so i guess im quite spiritual.
I have a high tolerance of salvia, ive tried many different brands and i never break through.
Only ever have gone thru twice in the same night when i was heavily drunk.

" TIME Cover: THE GOD GENE. Does our DNA compel us to seek a higher power? Believe it or not, some scientists say yes. "
If this is really true, and some people naturally feel more spiritual, it stands to reason drugs may affect the nature of the hallucination. It is a very interesting observation. Clearly you need more data, find more Guinea pigs

Awesome link, yeah, only problem is my guinea pigs are all used up, maybe I should start telemarketing; "Hi, my name is wingnut, and I was just wondering if you'd like to take part in our survey?"

I have also turned on many people to Salvia, all of whom are atheists of varying intensity. Beyond the laughs and "fun" trips, they've all experienced a strong trip that made them question something about themselves to the point where there's no turning back. Thankfully, they've all been changes for the better. They all seemed to have average tolerance to salvia (leaf/enhanced leaf).
Myself -- I'm an atheist with a very low tolerance... one big hit of straight Oaxacan leaf will send me to ultraland. Maybe it's because I'm a chick. However, I must say that I've had my own revelations on salvia recently, that have pushed me towards being the person I want to be.

One thing I'd like to say is that perhaps I picked the wrong word in saying atheist, maybe aspiritual is a better word. The main reason I posted this is because I have one very good friend in particular who is dead set against anything that cannot be proven. He claims that salvia has ABSOLUTELY no effect on him. I even gave him about 3 grams of 20 by, which didn't work, so I just told him a couple days ago how to do a crude everclear extract, and that he should do that with the remainder of what I gave him to produce the equivalent of one bowl, still nothing. After all my experiences and lessons with salvia I can't help but believe that she reveals a spiritual world, a world normally invisible to our everyday perception, and he thinks I'm full of shit (alot of you guys probably do too LOL), but it puzzles me why he is immune.

well, from what Ive read the effects of salvia (like all drugs) is that it effects your mind by creating a chemical imbalance or whatever, and that some people, due to their body structure, anti-bodies, etc, need more or less of a dose than others (did I say that right?).
So I really doubt it has anything to do with his personal beliefs, but more with his bodies tolerance to salvia.

Your probably right, it just made me wonder. Lets see, 2.5 grams 20x through crude extract to .5 grams= ~100x (in reality probably more like 80x due to extract procedure). Thats a DAMN high tolerance. Enough to make me wonder, especially when he trips as normal on shrooms or lsd.

Maybe some of the cell receptors necessary to have the experience are mutated or lacking. Is your friend on any drugs like anti depressants/ anti psychotics? This is somewhat interesting if in fact he is ingesting active doses accurately and not having the effects.

Not really a novel concept. It's the conceit of science that the reasons for the wheel are yet being uncovered still. But that doesn't equate with inventing it.
The Vedas are described by rishi and those rishis have what they call shakas or families. Each specific hymn of the Vedas has its own family lineage which owns it and one could just bet that that family knows now due to science that much of it is due to dna and not providence, except insofar as it is.
