nice double post !

Don't post here and the Cultivation forum....thats a no no.

What i said on the other thread.

I would take the jars out and clean the incubation chamber.

And why would you use perilite in a incubator ?
Makes no sense using perilite in an incubator to me.
You shouldn't need added humidity in there.
And you are just taking a risk getting more contams from having the perilite in there.

sorry for double posting...but no one answered me on the cultivation forum....

the reason for the perlite is that i use micron magick filter discs...the rye will get dry in the incubator if i dont add wet perlite...i dont use a fish tank heater...i use a heating pad...which im sure you know robs moisture...so without the extra moisture the perlite helps create..the mycelia wouldnt be able to colonize the rye before it dried out...at least i think this is what would happen...

i took all the perlite out....and wiped the jars and incubator down with isopropyl...i now have the jars sitting in the 20 gal rubermaid in a tray with an inch of h2o2 ..the whole setup sits on the pad...stabilized at 82... the jars are at about 100% colonized..

np

I wasn't jumping your shit.
Just letting you know double posting is frowned on.

Makes sense why you used perilite with the heating pad.

I think i would maybe use perilite too if i was doing what you are.
I'd add hydrogen peroxide though....and then i would clean out the incubator after each cycle of jars.
That would cut down on your contams.

Hope things go better for you !!!

thats why i was surprised when i saw contamination...i used alot of hydrogen peroxide in my water....and the green death still infected the incubation chamber...i only lost one jar...and another has black kernals but im not sure if it might be cooked rye since i boiled it to get the right moisture content or if its contamination...

Perlite->OUT!

Wrap the lids of the jars loosely with aluminium foil to prevent excessive evaporation.

If the green is in yer perlite it is probably algae. That shit grows in my buddies perlite all the time. He usually just leaves it and it is fine.
