horse dung fun!

ok yall, i need your advice. i just got a load of horse dung fresh from the stables. it is sitting outsidet now drying out and whatnot. i was curious if it would be beneficial to add straw to the dung at this time? the poop is already very fiberous. this is my first time using dung and even bulk spawn for that matter so i am trying to get everything nice and prepared well before i use it. any horse dung advice would be greatly appreciated. i cant wait to use this shit!!

Yes, now is a good time to add the wheat straw. Make sure to chop up the wheat straw and let it soak in water overnight before adding it to your manure. Try to make a modified compost pile. Also mix in some gypsum to give the pile some texture and keep it from becoming greasy. To speed up the process go to a garden center and pick up a box of compost starter microorganisims. They will break the compost pile down super fast.:)bluhoney

is it possible to get too much wheat in there? too little?

Now thats a really good question. IMO no, the horse dung is mainly straw anyway, so i wouldnt think so.:)bluhoney.
