3D Stereograms (See yourself, in 3D?)
    #5776330 - 06/21/06 12:24 PM (17 years, 7 months ago)

Take an ordinary stereogram.
Like this one:

Super impose the pictures.. (Or as close to superimposing, one gets!?) ..

And get this:

Now,(This might be the wrong forum, for this BTW, but then again.), If you took a picture of yourself, like that, (angled); And, either super imposed it by sight, or manually as a *.gif.

Then you could see yourself, in 3D? ..as a hologram?

And, the idea then is this: If you got two mirrors, in front of you, and you angle them right, could you then see your total reflection, as a hologram, and would it not be kind a weird?

I am just testing what I know about this, any ideas?

take a pic of yourself and copy it and look at them both and cross your eyes so they overlap and it looks 3d too

Hum..

I would like to print out two full-sized images of a person, have them side by side on a big wall, and look at the 3D image..

I wonderer where anyone would have equipment for doing anything like that.

I'm not sure it would be viable. The 3d image is actually registered because you're seeing both angles through each eye.

3D glasses work because one side is red, and the other blue. the movie is put into a format where the angles are set to stand out to one or the other color, with actual coloration in the movie.

So that taken into consideration, we automatically see two different angles being our eyes are foward facing and set to different positions. Pictures taken with single focus cameras are inacapable of creating 3D imagery. In theory an actual 3D image could be created with mirroring reflection with extreme acuracy. The problem comes in with classifying reflection as hologram. To identify with the actual holography definition (A method of producing a three-dimensional image of an object by recording on a photographic plate or film the pattern of interference formed by a split laser beam and then illuminating the pattern either with a laser or with ordinary light.) In theory, in an exact measure, I'm sure using mirrors to correctly direct the light is not out of the question, the actual pattern of the light has to come from somewhere.
