afoaf is gonna hook up an air ionizer to 6 terreriums .....each connection will be made with plastic dryer vent hosing....do you guys think they should still put a hepa filter on the connections to the terrarium....they are thinking theyll put the ionizer in its own small rubbermade box with some holes in the top for the air intake...then theyll have a radioshack small black mountable fan sucking the ionized air out into the hoses to be delivered through the roof of the terrariums...
constant supply of clean pure air.....no more fanning and opening up and introducing contams..... of course therell be a hepa filter on the side for exhaust what do you guys think let me know so i can tell afoaf if theres anything else youd add to the experiment........

Do you really know what an ionizer does?
Ionizers generators cause an electron to be added to molecules of Oxygen, Nitrogen and other trace gasses in the air. This makesions with a negative charge.
When the ions become negatively charged, they stick to paritcles in teh air like such as pollen, mold spores, dust, bacteria, basically anything in the air that you can and cant see... pure air itself is invisible, and cant be seen by passing lights though it (think of the monuments in new york city). The negative charge of the ion is transferred to the airborne particle. Surrounding this newly negatively charged particle are many other particles that are positively charged. These positively charged particles are drawn to the negatively charged particle and begin to build up, Eventually these particles become too heavy to stay in the air and fall to the floor where they are cleaned up by dusting or vacuuming.
This situation is great if you're in a hospital or something, but i dont think its good, or necessary in your setup, to be totally honest.
