Hunting Forum Suggestion

Maybe a warning box that pops up when noobs go to make thier first thread in the forum, asking if they've read the rules of the forum, and warning them that failure to comply will result in a locked thread. Dunno how complicated this would be but it's just a suggestion.

Why the hunting forum specifically? Surely that could apply to any of the hobbyist forums?

last i checked that sort of thing allready happens to everyone on their first 10 posts in any forum... i think that we called it the splash screen?

I thought there was a splash screen already also. Never saw it personally, as it was added long after I joined. With or without it, the hunting forum easily gets the most threads that violate the rules. Every day there are new members that join the shroomery just for the hunting forum. On an average day I have to remind 3-6 people about the rules, and I end up having to close 2-3 theads per day. I have been in that forum every day for the past 6 months probably.
It has had a very long history of people joining the shroomery just to ask if any actives grow in their areas and if anyone will take them hunting or show them spots.
I think that many new users just plain ignore the splash screens, sticky threads, etc - all because they are so anxious to ask their questions. The rules thread is so long that maybe people just skim over it and miss a lot of stuff.
I recently added a new sticky thread, which seems to have eliminated about 75% of the poor ID requests that we used to so often get. I notice many new users following the template anyways. Even using the same order for their descriptions.

I still say we need to make them pass a quiz before they can post.
