I haven't ventured far away from the BBC section, damn i'm typical,,, . I watched afew though and they were fine...
I noticed the site's not monitored that well from watching films,,, but it's worth checking just for the updated links because they're usually ok...
To be honest though i never get the 404,, .
That section's only been around for about a month (maybe 2),,, so most of the links are still fresh.
,,,,
What did you have problems with ?,, might be because it's a UK site like i had problems watching the American google vids. I doubt it'd be like that but i'm not sure..

Phelps filters all information through his 'bible is the word of god' perspective ( ) but I'd love to see someone refute the facts he presents.

TEDTalks: Wade Davis
In this stunning talk, National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Wade Davis celebrates the extraordinary diversity of the world's ... all indigenous cultures, many of which are disappearing, as ancestral land is lost and languages die. (50 percent of the world's 6000 languages are no longer taught to children.) Against a backdrop of extraordinary photos and stories that ignite the imagination, Davis argues that we should be concerned not only for preserving the biosphere, but also the "ethnosphere," which he describes as "the sum total of all thoughts and dreams, myths, ideas, inspirations, intuitions brought into being by the human imagination since the dawn of consciousness." An anthropologist and botanist by training, Davis has traveled the world, living among indigenous cultures. «
edit: really enjoying some of the TEDtalks ..
here is a few more of those i enjoyed the most ..
TEDTalks - Jeff Han - 2006
Jeff Han is a research scientist for New York University's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. Here, he demonstrates—for the first time publicly—his intuitive, "interface-free," touch-driven computer screen, which can be manipulated intuitively with the fingertips, and responds to varying levels of pressure. (Recorded February 2006 in Monterey, CA)
TEDtalks - Hans Rosling: Watch the end of poverty
In a follow-up to his now-legendary TED2006 presentation, Hans Rosling demonstrates how developing countries are pulling themselves out of poverty. He shows us the next generation of his Trendalyzer software -- which analyzes and displays data in amazingly accessible ways, allowing people to see patterns previously hidden behind mountains of stats. (Ten days later, he announced a deal with Google to acquire the software.) He also demos Dollar Street, a program that lets you peer in the windows of typical families worldwide living at different income levels. Be sure to watch straight through to the (literally) jaw-dropping finale.
E.O. Wilson: TED Prize wish: Help build the Encyclopedia of Life As E.O. Wilson accepts his 2007 TED Prize, he makes a plea on behalf of his constituents, the insects and small creatures, to learn more about our biosphere. We know so little about nature, he says, that we're still discovering tiny organisms indispensable to life; yet we're still steadily destroying nature. Wilson identifies five grave threats to biodiversity (a term he coined), using the acronym HIPPO, and makes his TED wish: that we will work together on the Encyclopedia of Life, a web-based compendium of data from scientists and amateurs on every aspect of the biosphere
TEDTalks: Ross Lovegrove (2005)
Ross Lovegrove is an industrial designer, best known for his work on the Sony Walkman and Apple iMac. In this highly visual presentation, he presents his recent work—from furniture to water bottles—which is organic in form and inspired by nature. (Recorded February 2005 in Monterey, CA. Duration: 20:14)

Don't think this was posted. There might have been a post with a Che documentary that explained his face as a cultural icon somewhere in this thread...that or I just watch too many of these to keep track.
