Just saw Les Claypool on his Of Whales and Woe tour.
Just... Fucking... Amazing.
Claypool, a madass saxist named skerik who fucking blew my mind, the original primus (sausage era))drummer, percussionist who hit up the xyle\vibraphones like crazy, and this cute asian chick named Gabby La La on sitar, ukulele, and theremin! (thats right, no guitars in sight) (in fact no guitars the whole night. the opening band was rasputina)
This was one wierd and entertaining combo, and the funky shit coming from them was just musical bliss. I love Of Whales and Woe. I hear that a lot of people dont... they obviously havent seen or heard Claypools Fancy Band jam on this shit live. FUCKING PRIMO!

Didn't he audition for Metallica once? I think they told him, "You're just way too good for us." I saw Primus on a Halloween night back in the early 1990s--the "Pork Soda" tour, I think. It was good but really weird.

Claypool puts on an awesome show.
Did his kids get on stage with him? They did at bonnaroo wearing pig masks.
Skerik is a mad man on the sax.
Long live the Fancy Band

I'll be working during the show somewhat, but hopefully I'll have enough free time to enjoy it.
I saw Primus in '04 with Tim Alexander. THAT was incredible...
