Working with HP

I recently super spawned some cakes to HP, which is currently residing in clear tupperwear. I was going to wait until it was colonized, then light-proof the sides and apply a casing layer.
Initially, the colonization tore through the HP very quickly, and what was at first a mass of brown that resembled dirt is now teaming with mycelium on all sides. However, the colonization seems to now have slowed significantly, and while there is definitely white everywhere there are still some brown streaks.
This brings me to my question, does HP colonize as thoroughly as a BRF cake? Given the clumpy nature of HP, the gaps between the bits are inifitenly larger than the gaps between tiny grains of BRF and vermiculite, as a result, I wouldn't be surprised if the colonization isn't as "complete" when it's finished. I guess what I'm asking is, should I expect to get a solid white brick if I let it colonize for long enough (like I get a solid white cylinder with a cake) or should I fruit sometime before that.
I can try and post pictures later if you guys would like, but I'd rather get a more general answer so I can develop my own feel for the process rather than simply having the forum vote "Fruit Now or Later".
Thanks in advance

that's why people mix straw or verm with poo, so it's fluffier and not as clumpy

Darn, I had some extra verm too (more than enough).
Oh well, I'll know for next time. Thanks for the reply, I think I'll let the mycelium colonize for another week, just to be safe, and then fruit.

There shouldn't be clumps. If I have no idea what HP is other than a brand of computer, but your substrate should be broken up before pasteurization so it is homogenous throughout. Don't use substrates with uneven texture. RR

HP = Horse Poo
And as far as I can tell, no matter how much you break up Horse Poo there are still going to be clumps when compared with BRF cake. This is not to say I didn't break it up, I did, but when broken up it's still got fibers and strands of former plants, and so will be "clumpy" when compared with the sand-like quality of BRF + verm.
