Hey all, I have here a spore print of some GT and I have all the supplies... except a syringe. So, I have 2 questions: Where could I purchase a single syringe? and what else could I use as a substitute for the syringe?

While these are generally used for aspirating LC, you might try a "flavor injector." Designed to squirt liquid into turkeys and such. Much larger gague needle. You can generally find these at stores that specialize in kitchen stuff though it's certainly possible you'd find one in your local grocery store.
You might be able to get needles at your local drug store (tell them you're doing an art project or something). My state doesn't allow sale of syringes to people without a prescription so you might be SOL there.

Substitutes are ink cartridge filling syringes, marinade injection syringes (check the supermarket) and glue applicators. All of these are blunted but are workable. You can order empties from most of the vendors. If you have a farm supply grange they have syringes for injecting medications into animals. The last place you might want to go is the pharmacy, but in most states they will sell you syringes with no questions asked.

I get mine from the Farm-Fleet store. They sell farming goods and like Workman said they sell for live stock innoculations. I get 5 for 1.19. I can also get the big ones for doing LC work. bigger gauge and longer needle. I have even heard of one guy using a turkey baster, not sure how it worked but if you got it sterile I see no reason it could not work. Just a pain to use I would think.
