I weigh 140lbs. I have been fluctuating between +/-3 lbs.
I think i am calorie deficient. I am fairly short. My body fat has got to be around 10%.

That's about where I am in the weight category. I was at 147...but I got lazy and stopped eating as much and working out as much. Blam! I lost 7 pounds like nothing.

I just ate a bunch of chicken fillets, and a lot of rice and vegatables. I am basically done with my bulk phase. I been cutting for a few weeks now, and its like i need more food or something. Cutting really takes a lot of time!

So eat some stuff that's really high in calories. Ranch dressing should work pretty well.
Is it possible to calculate body fat percent without using the calipers/pinchers? I'd guess I'm up around 20-30%, maybe a little more. I wonder what I'd weigh if I kept my current build and had 10% body fat?

Yeah with some current or such. The club has them. It measures the resitance an electrical current travels thru your body.
They hook one to your toe, and another to the finger.
And in 5 secs you get a number.
Its an approximation, its fairly accurate.
The other way is with water, which is a bit more difficult, something about water displacement. All i know you gotta hold your breath a while. another using some type of full body scan. Both of those options are really only used for professional athletes. Or if you really need some major physical therapy. Those two methods are really precious measurements.

Hm. I searched a few calculators and they all give me between 15-30%, but most around 15. My ideal weight, according to one is 201. Looks like I've got about 50 lbs to lose.
I think that's bullshit though, because I've been down to 205 before and people would tell me that I looked like a skeleton and I needed to eat some damn food. Guess I'll have my doctor measure my body fat next time I'm at his office.

you using the BMI or something? BMI is not really a good chart.
IT really has no scientific background behind it.

Yeah my scale says that I'm about 14% bf right now, but someone who has experience with calipers can give you a much better answer. My bodyfat only resides on my lower four abdominals which kind of sucks but oh well.
I wouldn't really recommend ranch dressing though lol. I would HIGHLY recommend steal oats!! It's the poor man's ambrosia...... of calories and other goodies lol. It's basically fucking calorie-dense-as-hell, cheaper than it is in calorie density and healthy for you. I usually go with the packets of oatmeal because it still has high cals, moderate carbs, low fat and tastes great. A can of tuna each day and packet of oatmeal, there's a meal. Protein shake with milk, that counts as a meal, steamed chicken breast and corn, there's another good meal. You can of course incorporate a lot of other shit, but I basically have about 4 meals a day which are NOT changed. I work in a different lunch and dinner, and then have a snack or two.
Don't go too overboard with adding calories though. Just add another couple hundred to your average to let your body get used to things. If you work out too, your body will start becoming more anabolic and want to grow. That's when you can eat like a cow.

i'm 5'6''. last december i weighed 200lbs. i slowly changed my eating habits over the past year. but i began to loose alot of weight about 2 months ago when i finally cut out all the bad stuff . i've only been eating vegertables, fruit, chicken and fish. im now down to 165 and still losing weight. no excercise yet either. i'm hoping i'll eat this way for the rest of my life. i approach my new eating habits like a recovering alcoholic does in giving up drinking.
bread, doritos and chocolate were the hardest thing for me to let go of.

Hey Shnezbit, that's awesome. I'm also 5'6" and 165lb. Trying to get down to 150lb range through running 3x/wk. Once you start losing weight and seeing the results, it becomes an addiction.

I'm 6'6" and I'm at 250. I'd like to be around 210-215. Eating better seems to be key. A month ago I was at 265. The only thing I've done different is eat better. Not nearly as much pizza or chicken wings, more salads and fish. Only exercise I really get is walking around campus, mowing the lawn, and working out my upper body. Weight loss has started so slow though, so I'm going to start doing some cardio stuff.

I play an enormous amount of tennis. 25-30 hours a week sometimes. Lately I been averaging about 10 hours a week.
I been cutting back the tennis, so i can recover. I been running so damn much around the court with all the stop and go sprinting, that i ripped my toenail off because of my shoe. The right and left pinky toenails are gone...
I have blisters on my big toe the whole skin just ripped off today. Also i been feeling the old age starting to kick in. Its like i don't recover as fast, but i think i am healthy. I can sprint like crazy for a long time without getting tired. It might help when i am running away from the cops eh? :P

Cut your toenails more often/shorter?

hey gema, thanks! it took some time to change my eating habits but i've finally done it. i've even stopped smoking pot too, mainly 'cause the urges to eat more were too strong when getting the munchies 1.5 hours after smoking. i miss it like a best friend but i also think at 34 i've gotten all i can from it. shrooms once a month is a nice escape still though, and i find they kill my appetite pretty nicely too! changing my ways has been about a 2 year process, no sudden changes. the most recent changes have been cutting out bread an chocolate, that was tough but i'm pretty over it now. i'm not so hungry too i think cause my body is getting all the nutes it needs from a healthy intake. good luck to everyone trying to lose weight.

If you want to gain weight, you have to definitely eat more than 3000 calories. One pound is equal to 3500 calories.
