It is possible, but most likely what you're seeing is a pan foen or maybe a coprinus.

The Pan shrooms are way more potent then cubies. You do not need as many to get the job done with pans. I would love to grow pans but everything I have read they are the mother of mothers to grow. Would this be acurate coda?

Pans grow as easily as cubes, but take a bit longer. They're a tad more picky on what they grow on, but pasteurized, cased horse manure works great. Keep the casing layer thin, perhaps 1/4" or less. Give them an extra week to ten days longer than cubes to pin, and try to keep the temp up to around 80 or so during fruiting. RR

I could have sworen that you needed hpoo with cardboard and stuff to even think of getting them to grow. RR you are telling me it just takes a little more time, a warmer fruiting temp, and less casing meterial? What spawn would you recomend as well. WBS or RYE, why did I have it in my head that they are a wood loving species.
