Location: Cow/Horse Pasture in South West Florida.
Habitat: Pile of dung.
Spores: Look Black (See Photographs)
Bruising: Black and Blue (See Photographs)

I probably walked 2 miles and searched hundreds of cow patties just to find these three mushrooms the whole day :P

I wonder if theres a way to 'clean' spores if they're dropped from less-than-clean caps.

You could just save the mushrooms and dry them well. That way you can clone them later. You could also try a honey LC as that seems to help cut down on contams asit has natual antibacterial properties.

Of course agar would be the easiest way to make sure you have a clean culture.
Is it quite dry in your area? Nice finds though, pity there arent more of them! :grin:

you could take prints and use agar plates to isolate clean mycelium away from contaminants.

Given my limited cultivation knowledge, I believe you can place dried gill fragments on agar and they will spawn(spores on gills). Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

There were some attempts done, and some claim that it is possible.

But it sure isn't widespread and/or reliable.

Thats not really going to happen. You can get a clean print from a wild mushrooms but since you did allot of fondeling and all that you probably wont be able to from these.
