one of those really really big one's that fly into you and you move.

it's just the one, and he just followed me around the house... kinda funny.

I also get those suckers when I open my garden doors. Also the smaller ones, any ideas on cathing/killing them? I don't want to spray poison in my room.

i'll occasionaly impress people by catching fly's with my barehands...

if they are landed on something, move VERY slowly up to them... they cant detect things without movement, so if you go real slow, they wont see your hand creeping up to them...

Flies don't use movement-dependant vision AFAIK... moving slowly probably works because the fly isn't alarmed by very slow movements.

I say you catch the fly and tie it to a very fine peice of string. Viola, pet fly.

I remember being taught that flies are sensitive to our advances because of tiny hairs on their backs which detect even the slightest bit of wind movement, so moving very slowly would probably be your best bet as opposed to trying to slap them with shit. That's why fly swatters work so well, the holes allow wind to pass through them as opposed to giving the fly a warning breeze with wind resistance.

Could be wrong...

Cool
But flies are pretty difficult to catch without killing them.

On a sidenote, when a fly lands on my PC screen I can control his movements with my mousecursor

I have a cat, she's 20 years old now and not very active as you can imagine.
Had a two kittens a year ago, the first on died by car, the second one just vanished. Don't want to lose a little cutie again.
Also my old cat doesn't really like kittens.
