Opinions Wanted - Air exchange from aqua pump to greenhouse

I posted a similar question a couple days ago, and one helpful responder inspired me to do some math regarding my question. Then the post stalled a bit. Anyway, I will ask again the question but I have a lot better data this time - and maybe someone can help.
I just started using a mini green-house for a fruiting chamber (ala the Martha Stewart Closet thing, except that mine is actually made for plants). This thing has four shelves (I would not use the bottom one since my humidification comes from evaporation of water from a 10 gallon aquarium on the bottom shelf), you could probubly get a dozen 8" x 8" trays on the rest of the shelves. My guess is that would be a lot of CO2 coming off that many trays. My question is: Would a single hose from an aquarium air pump provide enough fresh air? Given that question - here is what someone who was trying to help asked me to find out but never checked back: The mini greenhouse is about 16 cubic feet in volume. I did not have specific specs on my particular pump, but noticed a similar pump quotes about 60 liters per hour, which if my conversion is correct is about 2 cubic feet per hour. I guess that means 8 hours of pumping completes a full change of air in the grow chamber (I guess, or is that junk logic?). Anyway, what do you think, will it get me enough fresh air ? I am not using a cool mist for humidity, and very little air gets in. I found out the hard way that FAE increase was badly needed (contams on casings and too much humidity). thanks

yes, your logic is correct. 60 liters = 2.1 cubic feet, so you're correct that you'll exchange air in just under 8 hours. (a bit less even, you can subtract from the 16 cubic feet inside the greenhouse things like the trays themselves, the shelves, etc if you want to get really exact.)
TMC suggests 1-3 air exchanges per hour. i believe this number assumes a densely packed bulk shelved area like you describe, because in another part of TMC it also says that once or twice a day is sufficient for small grows (equivalent to like a pmp)
so will your setup work? probably. is it optimal? maybe not, you might be a little on the low side. will it matter much? i doubt it. assuming you open it up once or twice a day to check on things, mist your casings, etc, that's another close to another air exchange right there... and if you go away for a day or two and it has to self sustain, it will probably be ok too. i say go for it as is, you'll most likely be fine, worry about increasing it if you run into problems.

I am considering a cool mist. currently using a 10 gal aquarium with a sub heater for humidity (evaporation). That is sometimes hard to control and I am still working on it. With the cool mist, I will need to use a timer? Correct? thanks, f

CO2 is not a problem with greenhouses. Just leave a flap or two open for air exchange. I've cut several holes in my greenhouse, top, middle and bottom. Set a cool mist inside in place of the aquarium if you have trouble keeping humidity up after cutting the holes. If you DO use the aquarium, use a pump to bubble water in it. Don't heat the aquarium or you'll end up with condensation the sides of your plastic. RR
