I learned on a trampoline. Front flips are really easy on tramps, but back flips are more difficult.
I learned by having another person hold my stomach area and do the flip for me. This way, you get the hang of the flipping process.
Good luck! Do some Google searches but thats how I learned. Be safe as well.

Just start jumping. Jump to touch a tree branch or whatever looks good. Jump onto stuff and off. Work on your balance and strength. You will go however far you want.
Low stances will help you alot. Learn how to breathe through the stretch, relaxing and tensing to accomidate for balance. I can tell you this for sure: If you do low stances, the whole key is to learn how to maintain a focus on your long lever strength. Feet, knees, hips = hands, elbows, shoulders. Your core should be the stabilizer. Do not suffocate yourself. Progress will be measured slowly. Just make it a part of your life. I've been working out for about 1.3 years and I am starting to get really good at all of this stuff. Every day, I find some kind of workout to do. You could pull me aside at any time of the day to jump off a 7 foot structure and I would do it for kicks. =)
If you want quick devolopement, look at handstands and squats as a regular workout.
