K so i went to walmart and saw that they have a PC for 59.99 only a 6 quart i was like WHOA thats kinda expensive, i could fit 4 jars in the bottom. One of my questions is can you stack jars in a PC i could fit a total of 8 in it if you can. Not sure. Also saw a 21 quart pot for 20.00 it could fit a LOT more. Now i know a PC is better but the price difference is big, and i didnt think 60$ was worth a 6 quart PC. Thoughts? Ideas? Better deals on PC's? Links would be appreciated! Thanks!

the presto 22qt monster is what i have, its like 80 bucks and i think its worth it.
But you can spend some more monies and get an All American PC. Get the biggest you can afford, because the room really does help.

Well I do want a decent size but i dont mind working on it for a few hours. Where did you get yours from? that sounds like a hell of a deal.
Also like i was asking before can you stack jars ontop of eachother in a pressure cooker?

First you have to think on where this hobby might take you,
I say if your in it for the long haul, then AA PC is a must, buy a PC once and be done with it,
You can do more with it then PC, simmer grains, or use it as a double boiler,

And i would good sir, if i had that kind of cash wowzerz! I think if this hobby extends bigger than just 12 or 24 jars at a time for me, then i would buy the nice big expensive one. I think for now i will stick to something a lil cheaper. Thanks!

I have not cooked in mine,
A 925 is just to big for me, to do that

I have actually thought about getting another, something small just for cooking

Without a doubt, spring for the smaller PC over the larger pot. If you go with the pot you're stuck with PFTek for the rest of your shrooming days (or until you get a PC).
I will, however, go against the grain on the get-the-biggest logic. I can do three or four (depending on whether I want the jars to touch the edge and I prefer they don't) 1 pt jars per run and three or four jars will create enough spawn to fill a 9"x12" monotub to about 4".
So maybe I have to spend 4 hours every three months PCing instead of 1.5 hours. Big deal. I'm doing other stuff while it's sterilizing anyway.
