The sky changed for me. Anyone ever experience this?

Yesterday, June 18th 2006. I went to Harriman State Park in New York with one of my best buds. We entered the park and hiked up a a mountain to about a 1100 foot peak. I ate around 4.5 grams he had 3.5.
Most of the trip really wasn't that intense until the most amazing thing happened.
I was sitting at the peak staring up at the wide open beautiful sky and then it happened. I kinda looked towards the sun and something "clicked" with my eyes so that all of a sudden i had a tint covering my eyes so that it almost seemed like i had sun glasses on (but of course didn't have any on)
As i continued to look at the sky with this new tint the sky changed. Keep in mind at this point in my trip i didn't feel like i was tripping; everything was very clear and normal. My vision wasn't really skewed or blurred or anything.
The sky changed from the bright and clear blue sky and clean white clouds, to the most intense purple sky and pink clouds. It was as if there was a crazy beautiful sunset happening but the sun was still in the sky. I was freaking out to my friend asking him if he could see this but he was kind of unresponsive at the time going through his own trip.
The coloring was so intense that it didn't look like it was the mushrooms that was doing it to the sky, i was almost totally convinced that it was actually happening, that the light had done something to my eyes. It looked real.
It started fading back to normal after a few minutes but by messing around with my mind/eyes i was able to make it come back and become the intense purple/pink color scheme again.
Atop the mountain you can imagine the wide range of sky that was visible to me, and the whole thing changed.
Definitely one of, if not the #1 most incredible experiences I've had.

I've had this happen on Mushrooms before - mind you, I was strongly tripping in general, but I remeber standing on a beach talking to my friend with the water / etc behind him. It sort of felt like my eyes rolled to the back of my head for a moment then the sky went into the most amazing colours -- and like you said, almost like sunglasses or some sort of colored lense went infront of me.

Maybe it's a little off-topic but after my profound salvia experience I just can't get bored of looking at sky when I'm sober! I just feel powerful energy.

I experienced something similar. My first trip peaked at dusk, so everything was a lot more pink/red than it should have been. It was indescribably beautiful.

That sounds beautiful! Thanks for sharing this story. The heavenly glory of the sky, it's many faces and moods, is one of the greatest mysteries in this world for me.
On any given trip, the sky is always the most intense thing for me. I have yet to really look at the sky on shrooms, but I'm sure it would be an immensely powerful experience. On 2C-I the sky transformed into a super-conductive purple-and-orange field from which I expected a UFO or something even weirder to emerge as I watched. Coming down on acid, looking up at the early morning sky in Tennessee, rich blue with wisps of white clouds, I felt it was the closest thing I'd ever seen to the face of God in waking life.
Also, when I smoked some killer bud, the sunset-sky became a dome around the area where I sat, making it feel almost like I was encapsulated in a computer program. After a crazy experience with 20x salvia, there was a huge electric storm and I felt again as though aliens would make their presence known to me. The awesome power of the storm seemed to be compelling me, telling me to go outside, smoke another bowl and look directly up into the clouds, where I would come into contact with an unimaginably powerful entity. Unfortunately I had to refuse this strong pull as I didn't want to alarm any of my neighbors, a few of whom are police officers. :p
Thanks again for sharing. I hope others will regail us of strange sky stories!

my favorite part of life in general is looking up at the stars in wonder and thinking about how small we really were so naturally i tried it tripping on about 4 grams one night, I was so awe inspired and so amazed that the next morning when I woke up in that field i felt like a brand new person

I've had a similar experience, But the sky changed colour (to purple) with a tint. The heavens are awsome on shrooms!
-------------------- I believe with the advent of acid we discovered new way to think and it had to do with piecing together new thoughts of mind. Why is it that people think it's so evil? What is it about it that there is scares people so deeply? Because they are afraid that there is more to reality than they have ever confronted. That there are doors that they're afraid to go in and they don't want us to go in there either because if we go in, there we might learn something that they don't know. And that makes us a little out of their control.

years ago, after having 4 tabs of acid at once, i was staring at the sky and it all seemed to be flowing from one point, the clouds, the light, actually the whole of existance was pouring into the sky from one tiny area above me...a bit like a wormhole or a black-hole in reverse. it was amazingly beautiful. unfortunately, at the time i was sitting on the steps outside a cinema, and was forced against my better judgement to go and watch Godzilla, which was a profoundly shit experience and all i can remember is a big pile of fish.

You said that you looked "kinda" @ the sun. It probably came from this, since your pupils were very dilated even if the sun appears just as a small ball, all of your retina got a good radiation dose and was a bit off for some time. I produced a similar effect when i looked directly into a bright flashlight. Everything had a reddish/purple tint to it, the effect wore off after about 30 minutes. Later i reproduced it with only one eye by closing it and holding the lamp closely to the one eyelid so that the other eye wouldn´t be affected. It was very interesting since my visison was completly askew with one eye producing other colors than the other, my brain couldn´t really make sense of it. But when i closed one eye i could switch colors depending on wich eye was open.
You probably had the same effect but more pronounced since the sun is much stronger than my led flashlight.
Also whithe led flashlight into drug dilated eye = major body reactuion due to extreme brightness change after complete darkness, felt like the fist of an angry god ^^

Pretty common experience for me. In many of my mushroom voyages there are points where all color gains a tint as if looking through colored glasses. I have seen orange, green, red, purple and many others. And if I am really tripping hard and look up at the sky, well it is constanly shifting in colors.
