I would like to give them a go. I did a search and it looks like they have never even been mentiond here. Does anyone here know anything about them?
Also is this a good place to buy edible mushroom cultures? It seems like they have good prices.

Hey Psychoslut,
This thread has some good info.
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...rue#Post5480928
I've done cultures from a clone and spores on agar and grain. My attempts on straw have failed so far. It was I think it was a little to cool when I tried it though and I ended up with mold. It is pretty easy to start a culture of this species with spores.
The mushroom I found was on dirt with buried wood chips and leaves, so it will fruit on this also. I think mushroom people is a reliable company they have been in business a long time, though you are better off getting a print than a culture of this species, IMO.

Yeah from what i hear you always have to start fresh cultures with this species. They run out and weaken quickly. I was thinking of using fermented straw and a hoop and plastic green house style culture. Like what you use to keep frost of early planted crops. That would make a very tropicas hot humid climate.

Awesome thanks allot. I think I want to try and grow them indoors. Ill use a monotub/tub in tub hybrid to keep the temps in the 80-90 range that they like.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get a print?

Why do you have the "* Spores intended for microscopy and taxonomy purposes only" disclaimer on a edible species that is perfectly legal anywhere?
Thanks allot. Ill order some pretty soon, or Ill just have you send me some after I get them one spores you want .

That disclaimer is on all spore products to remain consistent with the psilocybian species.

Oh ok that makes sense. So have you grown paddy straw mushrooms? Ive read the part on them in GGMM and they seem easy to grow. The only thing is I dont think I have access to cotton hulls so my yields will probably suck.

I have only been able to get this species to grow outdoors in Jamaica. Indoor attempts have failed, but I really didn't try that hard or often. I think my temperatures indoors were not warm enough but its hard to say. It grows so quickly that if you don't have mushrooms forming soon after complete colonization, something is wrong with your environment.

So do you think raised beds in rows with a plastic tent over the whole thing would be helpful if growing outside of its tropical habitat?

Its not a flat bed though. They take a trapezoid shaped plywood box. And they layer soaked rice straw, fermented cotton hulls, and spawn in the box form. Then once its full thay pack it down and lift the form off and make another one in a row. When its done they put a clear dome tent over them. The little stacks of spawned straw they make are about knee high.
