Trying to ID

I've lived in Wisconsin all my life, and I've only seen ONE type of mushroom growing in the wild. It sucks, I guess I'd like to know more about it. Since it's growing all over I'm sure there are no good properties to it, at least not active. Maybe I'm wrong?
I do live out in the middle of a woods, however, these are growing in the yard around low grass, some even near dirt on the side of the house
I'm from north-eastern Wisconsin. This is the best picture I could find of the ones growing here.

Nice picture. By the picture alone it is probably a Coprinus species.
In order to get an exact identification, read the sticky thread and provide a proper description.

If I was living in Wisconsin the main mushroom I would hunt for is the Morel.

I actually saw one lying on a sidewalk a few months ago. I had no idea where it came from. I've NEVER seen those growing before.
Are they even active?

Are you talking about morels, since you replied to GGreatOne's post?
Morels aren't active! They are just choice edibles. They are picked for taste!
If you are talking about the coprinus, no they aren't active either.

Thanks for clarifying, I did not think they were active, but was unsure. Wisconsin sucks for any natural growing actives ;p
Thanks again

I know some local coprinus comatus that make me feel dizzy for about 20 minutes about 10 minutes after ingestion - i now suspect that the area where they were growing may have been sprayed with some kind of pesticide some time ago as ive never encountered this before and the other shaggys inteh area dont have the same effect.
