What causes mushrooms to grow drunkly instead of more straight? SWIM's fruits are about half normal looking, and half all gnarled up, twisting and turning as they grow, with an uneven surface texture on the stem..it's just kind of strange looking.

That one looks sort of flat and folded over..Here's SWIM's ordeal:

The first one is the real gnarl guy, the second just a bent penis. These are two 1 oz. cakes, brf, with 5htp added. They were made and innoc'd in shot cups.

its a precurser to serotonin, you get it at a health food store, some take it instead of tryptophan

..so if this is sold as a pill (im assuming), do i just crush it up and add it into the substrate?

it's a white powder that comes in a gelatin capsule, usually. i don't know if there is any benefit to adding this kind of thing to a substrate. there's been an incredible amount of talk about adding tryptophan to a substrate to increase potency. i don't know what works and what doesn't. research it.

type tryptophan into the forum search, you'll have too much information.
