Well just joined, and thought I'd say hi.
I've used this site for useful info over the past couple of months, and had to say it's freaken fantastic resource.
I love the strong informative community vibe going on, and since i'm only jst stepping into the mycological world, i'm glad to have found this place
Well a bit about me, I live and study in melbourne and have been interested in psycadelics for several years now (more so acid, a bit of mescaline, and of course Marijuana ). I decided a while back that if I decide to use drugs that i should be an informed user, hence joining your . I haven't used mushies for long, tried my first 1 about 3 months ago. But I have had very positive experiences on them, and have found them to effect allot of change in my conscious experience of the world.
What else: Well Music is a big part of my life. I goto as much live music as i can (went to see the dirty Three last night Freaken awesome), and have a great passion for Bob Dylan, Reggae, Progressive-psy trance, IDM (Autechre, Aphex Twin) hmmm wot else, and good ol' style rock and roll. really I just hate house music, R n' B, and anything that attempts to fuse funk with anything else, anything else is qewl by me... o also I make my own form of noisy electronica, check me out at: http://www.myspace.com/11213374
The other more dominating part of my life ATM, is my philosophy honors year. I am looking at questions in the area of the philosophy of religion, such as can we have belief in a single God if we know all religions are false?
Anway, hope to get to chat to some of you people in the near future,
Gyro

Welcome to the Shroomery!
-------------------- Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake. -Erik Davis

Hello everybody, wow such a nice welcome
Well Prisoner#1, outside of working at a university, research, and ethics boards (where you can work for the government, or various medical institutions) jobs where philosophy is required are almost non-existent, in fact i can't think of any. But philosophy is about learning, and being able to understand and explain ideas to people, so for me it opens an entire world of possible jobs, in fact I think of it as great grounding for whatever I eventually decide doing with my life, whenever I have to make that decision.
Cheers for the beers Superblingtheory , * Clink, glug glug glug * ahhhh now that's wot i needed...
