body asymmetry

so ive been workin out regularly since decemberish starting out with pushups situps pullups. after a few months started noticing more and more that my left side was more developed than my right. the explanation that i came up with was that the strongest side of my body was doing more work and getting a better workout. (though since i am right handed this doesnt make much sense to me) to counteract this i got some freeweights a few months ago and have added them into my workout. this isolates the sides and i can put a few extra pounds on the right side. this seems to be working for my chest but my stomach is still weird lookin and im not sure what to do to correct it. i feel like the problem could come from poor posture in general which finds its way into my workout. when standing naturally my right shoulder sits lower than my left, and maybe my body is turned slightly, but i dunno, its all real minor and not something anyone would notice. any suggestions??

It might make more sense to tone down the larger side because trying to bulk up on the other might be actually slimming it because of the extra use...just a theory though. When I broke my arm awhile back, it was in a fiber cast for a good 2 1/2 months and during which my arms grew differently. One had enjoyed a holiday of mis-use and the other was being used in excess, so it grew larger. There still un-even, but nothing extremely noticable...Though in some strang pyhsical phenomenon my left is the stronger of the 2. I cant give a clear answer to your question, I might suggest focusing more on form during your excersizing, isolating in on the area you wish to bulk. Talk to some of the experienced members and see what they say about it.

You should be aware that working one side of your body will never "slim it down" more then the other, as fat is not consumed by the muscles the fat deposit is closest to.
I would suggest that you replace all exercises that use barbells with freeweights, concentrate heavily on equality of form between your right/left. Doubly so on exercises which involve no outside weights, such a pushups/chinups, etc.

I believe that if you have an inequality of abdominal muscle distribution, it's likely resulting from other exercises, not your ab training. Look at carefully and focus on your form/posture when doing anything heavily physical, is all I can advise.

whoa, you registered on my Birthday! Cool!
ummm, as to your question...
who cares?
I'm sure it'll balance itself out on its own if you quit worrying about it.
I'm quite sure that everyone around you cares about it about 1/100000000000 of the amount you care about it.

Your body is naturally that way.
Right now, flex your left hand. Now flex your right hand. Do it hard and fast as possible. Which one has more 'oomph' feeling.
Your left. You're not left handed, right? Doesn't matter. That's just the way it is. Your left hand grip strength is very good. Just like your left leg is most useful for jumping. Now.. do some chins and see which arm is doing the most work at the end. Your right. Your right arm is strong, in general, than your left. Yet, your left grip is better than your right. Different specialties.
The balance you should be concerned with is to know how to properly support yourself against gravity.
