I totally understand. The texture is not desirable.
I was just trying to point out how there is no way dry mushrooms are more potent than wet ones aside from the weight conversion. If anything, wet ones are more potent.
Some people didnt seem to understand that, maybe they didnt read the whole thread. I just wanted to say that once and for all.

It seems completely illogical to say dry are better. Clearly, you are risking losing some actives in the drying process, but you certainly aren't gaining any.

Psilocybin starts to degrade because of oxidization, so by the time they have dried they have lost some potency. I personally can't tell much of a difference. When people say mushrooms are apprx 90% water they are correct, but remember that 90% is only an apprx. I am constantly drying mushrooms and usually always weigh before and then when they are done (cracker dry) and sometimes 30 g's wet might dry up to 2 g's and then sometimes it might dry to 3.4 g's dry. That makes dosing wet mushrooms a little tricky if accuracy is your goal.

Isn't that a good thing? I feel that obsessing over dosages and timelines have detracted from many of my trips with lucy.

It may be for some and may not be for others I think it would be important for someone who is not that experienced with mushrooms (or other drugs for that matter) to be able to accurately dose. But to each their own, I was just spreading a little knoweldge and personal experience.

Yeah, I certainly wasn't disagreeing with you, just proposing an alternative...I can definitely see your point. At the same time though, it just seems like maybe people should be more encouraged to consider it less of a dosage-oriented thing and more of a subjective sliding scale and just ride it out. Seems like that's a better attitude to have.
That also might be a bit irresponsible though, I suppose.

Yeah I see your point as well; I only usually weigh out a dose if I am looking to take a small amount 1-2 g's otherwise I grab a out of my stash and munch them down. It's like riding a new roller coaster, you don't know whats coming until you reach the peak

UnderNose said: eat like 30-40 wet grams for a 2-3 dry gram trip
I've had 100wet in a tea and split it with a friend, it was OK But eating 4g dry smashed me a lot more.
samething happened to me the other night i ate 40 grams fresh on an empty stomach. it was about 2 hours after i ate them for me to feel a comeup and i hardly could tell when the peak was if i peaked at all. over all it was a weird trip .
few weeks ago i ate 4.5 grams dry and that blew me away i got 49 grams half way dry sitting in front of me. im just waiting till there cracker dry then im'a take those badboys and go wonder around in the woods IMO dry is the way to go
Same problem here 3-4 times now, cant trip on fresh WTF??
Still got the problem ? maybe its my shrooms but dont think so

I find fresh to be way better, well, maybe not way better, but noticeably better than dry. If your not getting off on the fresh ones, you're probably just not eating enough.
I never weigh freshies, I just eye ball them. The first hand full of times I did shrooms were ones we just picked out of the field and ate right on the spot. Usually two boomers with a 2-3 inch cap and a 4 or so inch stem as thick as your pinky would do the trick.
