Contam recovery possible? (with pic)

Hi all,
My first post and first attempt. I have looked around and found a lot of useful information. Even though the "if in doubt, throw it out" adage has my attention, I have also found some talk on here of cakes recovering from contamination, but I don't know under what circumstances a true recovery can occur. I have a reddish pink color showing up in all of my jars in my first batch. There isn't very much of it, and the mycelium seems poised to over take it. Can myc "take back" territory that may have been slightly contaminated and eradicate the invader? In some jars the pink color is no longer detectable. I'm looking to get some experienced opinions on this.
These jars are of Cub B+ using the original PF TEK method and PC sterilized. The suspected contamination in this pic is toward the bottom center of the jar just under the myc. There is myc growing on the under side of the jar. This pic was taken at 20 days after inoculation. I think I may need to use less water in my next batch.
Thanks for checking it out. Pic follows - it's easier to see in full screen mode or magnified a bit.

I bet if you unscrewed the lid and took a whiff it'd smell like wet dog food. Wet spot most likely- bacillus- it's a bacterial contamination, and none of my jars ever recovered from it, nor have I heard of anyones projects overwhelming and erradicating a bacterial infection.

it will take over but not kill the spores, what it does is isolate the contam in its on little area but it will always be there, if your going to use it for bulk then it will spread as you will have to break it up, if you do i would take out the area of contam before doing it. your success rate will be lower drastically tho. and NEVER sniff a contam jar!! some bacteria will eat linings in you lungs. you know its contam no need to go further by smelling it.

That's not bacteria, it's mold. Yours is commonly called lipstick mold. If the jar fully overtakes the mold, it 'might' fruit, but don't attempt to spawn to manure. You'll need to fruit it as a cake or bury in your garden along with some manure. If you choose to fruit it as a cake, I'd suggest building its own fruiting chamber and keeping it in a shady spot of your garage or yard. Personally, I wouldn't keep a moldy cake. RR
