Wrap half of em in a moist paper towel and put em in the fridge until the rest are done drying.

Don't put them in anything wet. Fan dry them. You could put them in the fridge for a day or two, but do it in a paper bag or some sort of breathable container.
Fan drying usually works great. It's a good way to get the first 80% of moisture out of them. Then you can either put them in a container with desiccant, put them in a dehydrator, or continue fan drying if you live in an area where the RH isn't too high.

just stick em on a plate or a paper towel and let them air dry while the rest finish up. Once you have the current flush dried pull them out and stick the wet ones in, remember that if you stick wet mushies in with dry mushies it will rehydrate the dry ones. Doing that will increase the time it takes to perfectly dry your crop.

doed the heat from a dehydrator actually damage potency or does psilocybin decompose at a higher temperature from a simple dehydrator?

Liquid kick, before buying a whole new dehydrator realize you can pick up packs of extra trays for around 10 bucks brand new. Sometimes salvation army type stores will carry the trays for much much cheaper. Either way it's less expensive to buy new trays then a new dehydrator.
Mr Molotov, psilocybin has a melting point of 400 F, way hotter then your dehydrator's highest output. Drying your mushies in a dehydrator is the most efficient method.

I have put some in a quart jar and put on a tyvek lid and let it sit for a day or two...However, you can't put a bunch lol...
Plus i'm sure my house is much dryer than most peoples...desiccant is sitting in lil cups everywhere, lol. I hate humidity ...Except for in the FC
I've put like 2 ounces behind my fan and it dried crispy no prob...(in front of it would have made it visiable, and id rather not have it visable ) ...However, that might not work for you, my house is DRY

I was just doing a little research on dehydrators and found this little contraption. Looks pretty easy to make.

just lay out all the extras with a fan blowing on them. try to avoid stagnant air if your letting them air dry.

Send them to me(lol JK). I kn ow some of the dehydrators you can buy extra trays, you can also put some in front of a fan while the others are dehydrating.GL

Maybe I skimmed the thread too fast but as near as I can tell nobody suggested desiccant.
