bush pretending to be stupid?
    #5759719 - 06/17/06 03:28 AM (17 years, 10 months ago)

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1342132664644484246

compare speeches from 10 yrs ago vs. now

i still say its all an act, to blame "mistakes" on incompetence, as opposed to being calculated actions with expected results.

I don't know. I've heard that some of his professors from college have described him as having been rather dim-witted.

I do not think he has pre-senile dementia, nor do I think he is very dumb. I believe it is an act, to help kill fears of grand schemes like 9/11 being caused by this man. It's also a way of getting his message out to dumb people, who put little thought into who they vote for. Despite all his fumblings and slow-downs, his message is always clear and precise and you barely have to focus to understand.

I don't think for myself. I think as though I'm explaining my thoughts to someone else. I'm concerned only for those listening.

Maybe he really is that dumb and he just answers to daddy and his friends? Everything he says public is scripted just about, not like he ever gets put on the spot. If someone is there to tell him what to do every step of the way, then he wouldn't need to think much at all. He is definitely a great actor though.

The ability to fly a plane does not make one an intelligent person. It means they can fly a plane and little else. I've met a commercial airline pilot who couldn't keep his credit card debt under control even with a $100,000+ salary. He had no fiscal responsibility. Kinda sounds like Bush.

But with that said, Bush is smart. HE is smart enough to make his opposition think he is stupid, and therefore underestimate him. He is smart enough to gain and keep the trust of his supporters.

The worst thing you can do is underestimate your enemy. The same kind of underestimation that put Bush in office will make him a goat in the eyes of history (ala Iraq).

Is Bush of below intelligence? No, he is not. However, with the educational opportunities and connections that fell into Bush's lap, anyone can accomplish what he did. His average intellect has been bolstered with a silver spoon.

He is no genius or even close.

I wouldn't say anyone, public speaking is something not everyone can do well. Not that bush does it well, but he does it good enough to accomplish their goals...so far.

He definitely by no means deserves that office and without his daddy and friends there is no way in hell bush would have even made governor.

He's breaking down.  The job is tough and his repressed alcoholism is not helping the situation.  I believe the hamster has fallen off its wheel.

If you do a google image search for "hamster brain" (no quotes) the forth picture to come up is of the documentary Bush's Brain.
