L. Ron Hubbard's own son has come out and said the "religion" is a total scam his father cooked up.

It is true, if you read up on L Ron youl see how much of a total scam this religion is.

I have read articles that claim L. Ron started Scientology after he made a bet with Aleister Crowley. The bet was to see who could scam the most amount people. L. Ron started Scientology and Crowley started what would become the modern Wicca religion.
I would say L. Ron won that bet

Yeah- it's whatever is acceptable to the individual in an attempt to maintain a sense of order pursuant to one's own existant physicality/geography/preferances. And in actuality, if this is the case (i.e.-betting)- which I strongly disbelieve- I would place Crowley as the "winner".

Crowley didn't try to scam anyone though. He created the law of thelema which was tied into The Golden Dawn system of Magick, completely different than Scientology. I have admiration and respect for Crowley and enjoy his readings.

I enjoy reading Crowley as well but to say he never scammed anyone is a complete fallacy. He took great enjoyment in taking advantage of anyone he believed was stupid.

Aleister Crowley
Mr. Crowley, what went wrong with your head (Oh) Mr. Crowley, did you talk to the dead Your lifestyle to me seemed so tragic With the thrill of it all You fooled all the people with magic (Yea)You waited on Satan's call
Mr. Charming, did you think you were pure Mr. Alarming, in nocturnal rapport Uncovering things that were sacred, manifest on this earth (Ah)Conceived in the eye of a secret Yeah, they scattered the afterbirth
Mr. Crowley, won't you ride my white horse? (oh)Mr. Crowley, it's symbolic of course Approaching a time that is classic I hear that maidens call Approaching a time that is drastic Standing with their backs to the wall
Was it polemically sent I wanna know what you meant I wanna know I wanna know what you meant, yeah!

That is quite correct and I admire you for your recognition of this fact. This is how he maintained an edge on his interpersonal sensibilities- by scamming and tricking people- however- I must note- for the betterment of understanding within his writing- which, like many other similar writings, are geared for mutuality and clear intent (his generally positive).
