i discovered these a few mins ago when i took my tin foil off the sides and found some of the bigger growth is stuck, smooshed between the sides? is there any way i can guide these to the surface or will they find it their selves?
i have put duct tape around the sides now.

no way to "fix" it as far as i know. just keep that tape on the sides and give them alot of light up top, they'll poke through and you'll just get some bigger shrooms (due to the underground growth)

This is side pinning and it is very bad.
You want to initiate pinning from a container with sealed sides so light shines only from the top, you will need to remove part of the casing and myc to remove those wich also leaves it open for contam's....thankfully myc is somewhat resistence to airborne contamination.
If you choose not to remove them, they will rot and cause contamination either way
Next time, cover the sides with a garbage bag or something similare to block light out from hitting the sides, good luck

they should be ok down in there for another couple days. Pick all the mushrooms on top. take a cookie sheet and put it on top of the casing. hold the cookie sheet on the casing as you dump the tub upside down onto the cookie sheet. now just pick all the mushrooms and do the same in reverse to put the sub back in the tub.
i hope i worded that in a way that you can comprehend.
i dont cover the sides of my clear tubs at all. i just let mushrooms grow wherever they can.

the cookie sheet thing can be a hassle by yourself. if you can have somebody help it makes it allot easier.

I *fixed* mine (which was pinning in a clear plastic bowl) by taking it out and letting it fruit without walls.

just let it go. its not bad at all despite what the comments above say. they won't be picture perfect specimens but they'll grow just fine where they are, and will eventually find their way up and out. when you harvest the ones on top carefully take the whole casing out of the tray (it should come out in a nice big block) and be sure to harvest anything and everything that grew on the sides. they'll taste and work just the same as the rest of the shrooms on the case, even if they don't come out as pretty, and might start bruising blue as they force themselves through against the wall. its gonna be ok, i promise. your substrate shrinks a little as it grows (which can be avoided by an extent by keeping moisture levels up, a dry sub will shrink even more), and light finds its way into the cracks. those cracks happen to be a great microclimate for pin formation, just like what you try to provide on the top... so it happens. once everything is cleaned off and ready for a second flush you can fill in the cracks along the edges with some extra casing material. no biggie.
