lets say i wanted more growth from my mushrooms..is it okay to keep them growing even after there full sized and will the potency rise abit if kept growing for a longer period of time or would they rot eventually?

After the veil has detached and the mushroom has dropped spores, any growth that continues will be fruitless as it will consume resources without producing much more in the way of psilocybin or psilocin. Most of the production of these chemicals occurrs in the early stages of the mushrooms growth- particularly during pinning and shortly there after.
Eventually, yes, they will rot. But letting them go a few days will certainly not cause problems unless they are already present.
I would personally pick them after they drop their spores and save the cakes nutrients for a second flush!

Potency will have a slight loss per weight/volume. But you will have MORE weight + volume so it's really up to you. On one hand you will have 'slightly' less potency on the other hand, you will have more mushroom flesh. Most growers pick the ones they are planning for consumption right after the veil tears away from the cap. They do this so they don't have spores all over the damned place.
