Old, Old....old popcorn jars......worth a shot?

Hello all. Been away for quite awhile, nice to see everything stayed the same......same old "i got a syringe and a piece of dog poop will I get good shrooms?" questions lol
Question. Say someone was really forgetfull, and just flat out forgot about 24 qt jars of fully colonized popcorn...for about ehhh 4 months. Then stumbled across them...and opened one and found no mold, a good myc. smell, and condensation still in all jars indicating all still have moisture.
Anyone think these jars are viable? Or does myc have a lifespan and just "dies" after a certain amount of time. I think he opened up two of them and crumbled/cased in a baking tin tonight, to check for live myc, would be confirmed if the myc colonizes casing...correct?
Just wanted to check....as 24 jars is a lot to waste, when one only has a PC that holds 4 at a time, lots of time was spent on making them. Why they were forgetten? No idea.

Ive read some posts about leaving jars for extended periods of time increasing potency. If they are not contaminated, give them a go!

I can't remember where but someone recently reported jars (much older than 4 months, IIRC) where they grew and fruited just fine. I'd agree with johnjohnandjamal and say "go ahead, try it."

Well maybe if they are good, try and spawn them to some Hpoo and see if you can get some good flushes.

Thanks for the responses guys.
john john, I think I've seen some of those posts also..as I searched about my question before posting (which most people cant figure out here lol).....and I read a few posts, but all were about jars 1 month or 2 months old. These jars have been 100% for 4 months...and I'm just looking for anyone who knows for a fact that myc. will last that long.
Splif..thanks the response...two jars are currently in a tin with a casing layer, which will hopefully colonize.
Liquid..thanks for the response......if the 2 jars prove themselves viable, then the other 22 will be spawned to Hpoo.
Thanks again.......still looking for someone out there whos acually used 4 month old jars and had good flushes/results....or if anyone knows the lifespan of myc if any.
Thanks!

I'm almost certain that it would work. You said it was still moist and it had not dried out. Make sure to post the results when you use them!

Crap. I just remembered some idiot didn't label the jars, and theres 4 different strains between them, 6 jars per strain. So now there is 22 unlabeled jars.
I just did a search about mixing strains....and I got mixed results, but some of the people I've came to trust in the past (roadkill ect.), said that mixing will get you crappy yields and is not good to do at all.
If the jars prove viable, they were going to spawn into 3.5 sq foot containers, 4 per container......Now the only way to NOT mix them...would be put dividers into the tubs, and mix only 1 jar with one bag of poop ect, and have 4 sub-containers..in the big one....anyone get what im saying?......so do you guys think it would be worth it to go through all that trouble and seperate each container...or just say **** it and just grab 4 jars and spawn to the whole container, mixing strains.
Something I was thinking about.....we all know that the deeper your substrate is (to a certain extent), the more and bigger fruits you will get.....well does the same apply to the acuall mass of your substrate..or is it just the depth?
Meaning.....take the 3.5 Sq Ft container.....sub depth is 6 inches.....but, all the substrate is connected, so you have 1.75 cubic feet of substrate....so when the dividers are put in, there will still be 3.5 sq ft, and 6" depth, but it will be split into 4 sections, only .875 cubic feet each.
Everything I've read relates only to the depth of the substrate, not the volume of it.......but just figured I would ask.
Thanks alot for all the help and responses!

Just an update...it seems the myc is poking through the casing layer, which hopefully means 4 month old jars work. A person wouldn't believe its myc yet though, as green mold myc (if its called myc) looks the same as overlayed myc..that has happened before..."oh look at all the nice looking myc coming through!"...next day, you have a casing that looks like your back yard lol...so maybe when pins show themselves, it will be proven. Would be nice!
Any takers on the above questions I asked?
Thanks for looking and any help!!!!!
