Anyone think this movie will be good?
I think it will be great, I loved the first one and I was in the import scene before it came out. I thought it was a well put together piece. Now the second one sucked ass!
What do you think?

dude. wtf.
the drift scene was fine, but now the venerable 240sx has turned into the ricer civic. It really bothers me. All crappy uninformed movies like this do is suck the life out of the sport and give it a bad name by bringing in a bunch of unsavory and immature kids who will go and drift on teh street. It's just corporate america trying to cash in as much as they can on each fad until there is nothing left and then move on.
I used to want a 240sx or an ae86, but now theyre cop magnets. It used to be only like 1500 for one, but with all this hype, a crappy 1986 toyota corolla with not even 100hp is selling for $3-5k.
oh well, when drifting falls out of this "mainstream" light, it will be the true enthusiasts who remain. pish posh

the ae86 a cop magnet? I doubt it, most cops dont even know what it is, wel until tomorrow that is.....
The thing I have to say about the 240sx is that the sr20det motor is going to be outrageously high priced in a few weeks or months thanks to this movie. Luckily I already owned one in my 200sx years ago.
Oh well, I will still watch it, plus Vin Diesel will be in it for a glimpse, I guess or maybe have a little bit of a roll.

going to be? it already is. This movie isnt introducing drifting into the mainstream, it is the culmination. It's been getting negative spotlight in the media for years now. Let's just let it die down please. a front clip is so expensive now (and becoming rarer).
Let's just hope that more track events arise from this... keep it off the street kids.

Anyone who claims to be into the "import scene" and likes F&F most likely owns a vehicle like these...

What do you think?
Are you joking? The Fast and Furious sequels are getting so horrible that they're almost parodies of themselves. The original movie was forgivably atrocious, the sequels deserve no such forgiveness.
They are unrealistic, incorporate things about automobiles that are blatantly incorrect, have thin (if any) plots, and are generally just rediculous.
"cars, women, money, action! Everything you want, give us money!"
The films are assembly-line products, nobody involved in the making of them gives two shits about whether the film is good or not, they just want to make sure that people will willingly buy tickets and make them money.

i agree 100%. I just cant imagine anyone with reasonable intelligence to be looking forward to part 3. It hurt just to watch the previews.

Japan has a history of making things that cause seizures, it's sort of a tradition.

Lets see, I for one am I real deal fan of imports, I dont drive a shitty car and never did, all of my quote "rice rockets" could beat Mustang GT's and even more. Yes I do believe the sequel to the Fast the Furious sucked Monkey balls, but the first one was a great movie and had an excellent plot to it.
What more do you want from a plot, a detective goes undercover into a huge race scene to tackle down a crime ring of hi-jacked semi-trucks, which in return stolen electronics from them are sold to make them the fastest and richest people in the import life-style. While Paul Walker blends and mimics this life-style with the supposed felons he has an alter-ego change and heads for the worst and realizes friendship is more import than other people taking credit for others jobs.
Sounds like a pretty good plot to me, add some nice looking cars(by the way the first one had nice looking cars, none-the-extreme). The third one is going to where the cars originated, and if anyone who is saying bad things about this obviously doesn't follow the scene. Cars from Japan are flashing, but unlike the flashy cars here in the US, the cars over there are built to do what they claim to do.
I think the movie will be interesting, because a) it has a brand new cast b) It is going to be in Japan where some of the cars that seem out of proportion, are not! and c) The scenes where you see cars doing aggressive sliding over 30 yards and doing speeds excessive of 190mph, will be accurate.
I lived in Japan and I have seen countless of Option-Auto, Best Motoring, and a lot of other Japanese films of these little drivers doing the impossible. The only thing that can make this movie bad is the drifting, by exagerrating the actual drift of cars.
Personally, I think my "ricer" can take about anyone's car(s) on here, except "Goobler's" Corvettes and I think a guy on here named "Supra" or any other C5 or higher Vette.
My two-cents.
