verm

I noticed that verm isn't availible at Wally world or home depot here anymore. Is there enough of an asbestos health hazard that they wouldn't carry it anymore, or is it an image thing like with the tylenol cyanide case?
Where could I locate some verm for cheap now that my local hardware stores and wal mart don't carry it anymore?
Peace
Flatal

ok this question seems to come up about once a week, there is no asbestos in vermiculite, that was a long time ago in one batch by one company that fucked up. i couldnt find it at walmart either, just go to a large local garden center, ask them, they have it.

well, the thing is that in the gardening world we concider the two interchangable for most situations, so alot of places will only carry one or the other. but its out there somewhere.

i dont know about once a week, but it does come up often. if you would search this forum you would get a gang of anwsers. home depot DOES have vermiculite, thats where i get mine. it should not be that hard to find, i see it all over the place. you could always order it online, but im sure youll find it soon. tell us were your located and maybe someone can tell you of a local supplier.

good luck!

Home depot and lowes 'used' to carry the small bags... but I never see them there anymore either, even in season. But they do carry huge bags for around $12 per bag... which is a good investment considering you get about 20 times as much for the price of 3. These are usually hidden out of site, sometimes way up on the 4th shelf out of reach. Half of the employees dont even know about them, or even know what vermiculite is... .. it seems lol

course you could be in africa for all I know, they dont have lowes there... or do they

Had to special order it from the Home Depot. Called this morning. They have it, it just isn't asked for very much. I also had to special order stove pellets to try the h2o2 bag tek.
I am in the midwest in one of those corn states. Africa, no.
Peace
Flatal
