I had a loud muffler and the cop pulled me over. No drugs in the car thank god however I was driving without a liscense, expired tags and no insurance. I was going to get these things when I got my first check. However friday is my first payday. The cop was SUPER nice but I was honest from the get go. I told him that I was on my way new job and that I knew that I did not have any of the things I mentioned and that I was just trying to get everything taken care of. He did not arrest me which he could have. He did not issue a warrent for my arrest like he could have for not having insurance(which is bullshit by the way). He did impound it which is what the least I thought they would do if they caught me. I just got a ride back with the towtruck driver to my house. I am not sure how i am going to get to work but at least I am not in jail.

People like you are the ones that fuck over people like me.
So when you run someone down one day, and almost kill them and make them spend 100000 dollars for the hospital stay your are still going to say insurance is bullshit.
Stop beaing a louse and pay up!

Dude, I JUST GOT A JOB. Did you happen to miss the part where I don't have a liscense or tags? Do you think that if I could afford to get that fixed that maybe, just maybe I would get insurance also? I am trying to get things taken care of. And not to say it could not happen but I have never been in an accident that I caused that did anything but property damage. I hit a fence once when I was younger. I am a good driver. I don't have any moving violations on my record in the past 8 years.

Do they have any kind of public transportation in your area?
Are there any co-workers that could possibly come pick you up?
How far away is the job?

No they don't have any kind of public transportation. I did not go to work because none of the people that work there live anywhere near me. The towtruck driver was not going to drive me 35 min away so I could go to work. Everyone else is either at work or my brother that lives 45 min away. And I am sure he would have just jumped on the idea of driving that way to take me to work. Its a 50-55 mile round trip from my house to work.

Screw you, ride public transportation and stay off the roads.

Well that sucks, I don't know what to tell you then.

You still might want to ask for a ride from someone.

I've been hit by people like you....Good bye deductible!
Thanks for raising my insurance as well. I know it might be super difficult to get a ride to work....but until you took the job, you probably should have considered such.
It wouldn't of been a bad idea to work at the fast food joint down the street for a couple months...built up some savings in the bank, gotten your license out of the way, insurance paid for...bam. You're set to take on a job better suited for your expertise.

yeah insurance is pretty important these days. and in all honesty riding with out plates, a loud muffler and no insurance, you know youre going to get busted...
you are lucky as hell though, most other places would put your ass in the slammer for that shit. although im not one to talk, as i once drove cross country, and found out that i had no ins when i got there...

while I maintain that insurance is a scam, I also recognize that driving without insurance is a liability, you can be the best of drivers and still have an accident, regardless of whether you are the at fault driver or not, that wreck (hypothetical) would not have occured if you had obeyed the laws and not driven your car without insurance. without the insurance, who would pay for your car, your injuries and so on.

i agree that it is a scam. But if i personaly didnt have insurance even though when i was hit by the vehicle i wasn't in a car. I would be 100,000 dollars in debt.
i don't mind paying for the what if reasons.
