Sample of Mushrooms From Wollongong - ID Request

Hi, I found these in some barkchips in a public garden in Wollongong last week. All up, there were hundreds, but they came in smaller clusters. I had been busy, so I didn't really have time to pluck a good many, but because they looked similar to some of the psilocybes (subs) i'd seen displayed here, I thought I'd pick just a couple to see if I was remotely on course. These ones had caps of about 3cm, but others were larger, reaching about 8cm across. The larger ones fanned up at the edges, becoming concave, but they retained the little bump in the centre. What caught my eye was that they had the 'nipple' in the centre that seems to characterise many of the australian psilocybes shown on this forum. These were more pronounced on some than others, but they were definitely there. What made me 'hold my horses' was that the caps seemed somewhat more orange than the ones shown here, the stems bruised orange, rather than blue, and the spore print was dark brown. While slimey from the rain when I first picked them, they became very smooth after a short period. They smelt like ordinary mushrooms to me. I hope that's enough info. The many mushrooms that were there when I found these are by now dead, but I'd like to know what kind they were for next time.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if I should provide more info. Prometheus.

Probably going to at least need a spore print.
I have a pretty good idea of what genus it probably is, but I'd rather hold back on guessing you provide a spore print color.

I don;t have a photo of the spore print, but as I said above, it was dark brown... perhaps a little reddish, as in burgundy... but I'm going off memory alone now...

They arent Psilocybe Subaeruginosa (what your are looking for). Don't eat them - not active.
You are kinda heading in the right direction - these do look quite similar to subs. Look for white stems - see how these ones are brown? White stems are the first clue - then look for blue brusing, then get a spore print that should be dark purple/purply brown. Post a pic for confirmation.
White stems is the method I use to weed out the majority of look alikes - its just a visual aid to help NOT a positive ID feature.
Good luck

they are hypholoma/stropharia aurantiaca and i can confirm that they are mildly poisonous. as in vomiting, diaherra and mildly elevated liver enzymes,

Thanks very much for the advice guys. Feelers, the stems were whiter when they were still in the ground. They went that orangy brown colour after I picked them. So I figured that was bruising.
