looks like peat moss or coir and vermiculite jack straw. WHat are your temps like? dropping the temperature a couple degrees, or putting it in your fridge for a couple hours can help trigger pinning. I'm not a hundred percent sure but the middle pic resembles overlay, I would drop the temp five or ten degrees and wait a couple days to check for pinning. Just my opinion although that middle pics myc looks pretty weird.

Temp Drop [Re: ethene]

Yeah the two things that trigger pinning is Temp and Light. It makes the shrooms think winter is starting so they need to hurry up and produce fruit to drop spores so it can reproduce next year. But I would patch that shit up bro and slap that bitch in the fridge for 6-8 hours but have your fridge on low. And make sure it is around 71-74 degrees. I normally use 72 for fruiting. And I would get a Floro (the blue spec kind) It will say something like natural light & also get a timer (I use digital because it is quiet). Thats all the help I can give. If that don't work then you got me stumped.

wow, i'm suprised it colonized so much of the "non-nutritive" casing layer.

What kind of FAE do you have?

Yeah, I normally fan 4 times a day and I use two air pumps pushing air through two different hippa filters. With two extra exuast points with hippas also. I would fan more. Plus look into buying an Fish air pump asap.

I agree with the fresh air exchange person!! I used to have the same problem before I used the double tub tek.

Another problem could be the geolite.. (if thats waht it is, I used perlite) With a casing, you simply do not need the extra high humidity a cake requires.

Ive done much better since I drilled holes and filled them with polyfill for fresh air exchange and eliminated perlite from the terr.

buckwheat may not be a very good fruiting medium on it's own, spawning it to poo may be your best option

I took the cakes out and found that there are a lot of little aborts on the sides.
is there any possibility to grow shrooms on that?
can somebody help with advice?
