Spawning clarification please

My jars are about colonized and my Tenn Stud poo is supposed to be here on Saturday so I am getting ready. I have a few uncertainties though . I am planning on following this http://www.shroomery.org/index.php/par/23705 . Some further reading has led me to believe this wouldn't be the best way. Is it better to add spawn to hpoo in the bag (after pasteurization) and let it colonize, then put in trays, let strengthen, case, fruit. Or simply layer the spawn with some hpoo in the trays already and wait for it to colonize?
Thanks!

If you add the spawn to the bag and allow to colonize before transfering to trays, the mycelium will require some recovery time. It would be more efficient to spawn the crap directly in the trays.

thats what I did, spawned four quart jars in about 10 pounds of poo in a 22 gallon rubbermaid and had it colonized in 5 days. I think the less you fuck with it the better.

Is it better to layer it (like layer of hpoo, layer of spawn, layer of hpoo, casing). Or is it better to mix the hpoo and spawn up completely then case on top. Also, would I want to case as soon as I put the spawn and hpoo in trays or wait until it fully colonizes first (probably case right before fruiting)? The spawn and hpoo should be colonized everywhere even on the top correct (just like a cake)? it's just the casing that would only want to have myc poking through before I fruit I believe...

I prefer to layer because it causes less damage to the grain kernels so they can recover faster. Allow the substrate to colonize fully before applying the casing layer. Once the myc reaches the top of the casing layer, either patch with fresh casing material over the exposed mycelium and place in the FC, or simply place in the FC without patching. RR

Any time that I didnt put the pasturized poo with spawn directly into the grow area or tray, it got smelly as hell. It grew a hell of a lot faster in the tray too.... fresh air exchange.
