Who will buy/reserve a PS3?
    #5751283 - 06/14/06 09:26 PM (17 years, 7 months ago)

Anyone here planning on buying or reserving a PS3 when it comes out? Gonna try to go on ebay if there aren't any in stores?

I got an XBOX 360... I'll wait 'till the prices drop on this one. Not enough exclusive titles to peak my interest... yet.... with GTA being released on BOTH systems... 'n stuff.

Still, it looks like a killer rig.

600 bucks? No way... can't afford that. (And I won't get the dumbed down version).

The wii will be like 200, and probably pretty fun.

Considering that the Blueray disks will hold A LOT more data, just think of the graphics.... and the bluetooth, wireless.

yeah, I'll wait a bit to see all the reviews come out, but I might consider investing in a wii.

Blue Ray will hold more data. BFD.

You're basically paying an extra $250 for THAT technology alone.

BlueTooth will be no different than other wireless controllers for wii and XBOX. They'll all work through walls. How FAR away from the tube do you need to sit?

I'll get one eventually, but I won't pay $600... let alone go on ebay and bid.

Yeah, ps2 and psx lasers were bad enough, can you imagine how many drives are going to break on brand new technology? If you get it, get the extended warranty for sure.

And wii uses bluetooth as well, I believe. Though it's true, it really doesn't matter. I'll end up getting a ps3 because it will have some great titles, like the next metal gear solid, and final fantasy, etc. But I'll wait for a price drop, and for some bugs to be ironed out.

I've got a 360. I don't really play it. Probably should've waited until they had some good games. Though burnout revenge looks great on it, and is damn fun.

360 is pulling a dream cast imho
they came out too soon. its a gimick for the most part.
theres not a single game i would consider owning on it. plus sevral titles are avalible for x box anyway.
wii will rule
im calling that now

That's the bitch of any new system. Not enough games.

I fucking loved Oblivion (Best single-player RPG ever.)... and Project Gotham 3.

Wii looks fun as hell.

Yeah, I figure it'll be worth it eventually. Plus, it's not bad if you burn the games. Though dual layer dvdr discs are a bit pricey.

God damn I forgot about burning games. I had my uncle mod my playstation when I first got it. So I just rented video game and burned them to CD. I had about 150 games in my collection at the time I played PS.

Yeah, it's a fairly new thing for the 360. You take out the dvd drive, plug it into the computer, reflash the drive firmware, and put it back in. Then just burn and play. PSX was a bit easier, but at least you don't have to buy an overpriced modchip.

Probably after a year of release at least. Shit is way too expensive when its new. I'm still planning on purchasing an Xbox 360 still

I'm getting a Wii, that's it. PC for real games and Wii for the wiimote. Mark my words the PS3's a dog and Sony's losing their dominance in the console market this time around.

I've said it before but what the heck: the only reason I'd be interested in PS3 is for high def. DVD's.

However, considering the format war between blu-ray and HD-DVD I'll prob. hold out for over a year on either type of player.

There are a lot of stories going around about fundamental hardware problems with the PS3 and features that will have to be downgraded to meet the release date. Some of the stories might even be true.

In any case, being an early adaptor sounds like it might be a painful process. The Wii, however, sounds sweet.

Im not sure if its true or not. But I heard you would be able to download all the old Nintendo games for free on Wii. If so Im gonna be playing all the regular nintendo Mario games. I used to love playing them as a kid.

I want a wii.

That said, if you have an HDTV and an XBOX360, you know HD is a BIG step foreward. I wish Nintendo would find a way to scale the definition up through add-on hardware... or something. Going back to 640x480 is a BIG step back.
