Mushroom Bust in Oregon

Saw in the news today that police arrested someone in Eugene with enough mushrooms to supply 2300 "hits".

Haha,
"The spores would be able to produce a crop of mushrooms every 40 days."

Ya, i suppose if you were retarded at growing.

"Eugene Police Sgt. Jerry Webber said a pound of dried mushrooms can sell for up to $500."

Holy crap, i need to move to eugene oregon. That would sell for like 3k here.

Yup, thats what they go for here.
$10 bucks a gram.
$120 for a half ounce(14 grams).
$200 for an ounce (28 grams)
$1600 for a half pound (227(ish) grams)

I've never seen it for sale for more than that, but i'm sure a pound would have some discount to it. If not, i assume that a pound would be double a half pound, so $3000 to $3200 bucks.

Thats just my area, psychedellics are in short supply, and there is still high demand. Which means, high prices. This goes for acid too, it sucks.

I'm from Eugene, and while $500/lbs seems low for an individual pound, but it's about what I'd expect if one were buying multiple pounds. Ounces are $80-$100, individual 1/8ths i think usually go for $20 or $15

Hey!

2,300 mason jars of spores can only produce 10 to 15 pounds of mushrooms?

More like... millions and millions of pounds.

Sgt. Jerry Webber is a douche bag! He and a few other officers busted a house party I had in Eugene a few years ago with my roomates. We had a huge PA, a pair of tec12's, and my buddy was spinning dnb, jungle, hip hop, some rap. It was a tight party until they told us someone called them from 5 blocks away!

Ya, that is another interesting part of this story. Why was the guy sitting in a house with 2300 jars of mushroom spores. Spores!

Was each jar a print? Was each jar multiple prints? Do cops know the difference between spores and mycellium?

Also, i know why you need spores, but why do you need 2300 jars of spores? If we assume those are prints, and lets say you make 6 10cc syringes(i'm not really sure how far you can stretch a print, i always make them super dark). Now you have 13800 syringes full of spores.

Lets assume he doesn't use liquid cultures either. So, for each syringe, thats 10 jars(if the fool still was on the pf tek method). Now thats 138,000 half pint jars going.

Now lets say, just to get a low numbers, he got two dried grams per cake per flush. And he only gets three flushes out of the cakes. that would be 138000 times two. 276000 grams per flush. That times three is 828,000. Convert those grams to pounds and you have 1825 lbs(plus a little). Thats a lot of mushrooms.

Anyway, sorry, i just got bored and thought i'd add up the numbers. Please correct me as i'm sure i've made a mistake somewhere and i'll update the numbers.

Edit: Oh ya, and at 500 bucks a pound thats $912,875. Thats in oregon. Here in texas that would be $5,477,250.

Well since spores aren't illegal, this guy should get off if the cops really busted him for spores. Dumbasses. He will get off if he looks outside the box or has a lawyer that isn't a retarded coke-head.

No, no they do not.

They will call it anything. Jars of spores. Jars of mushrooms. Jars of 'mushroom plants'. Jars of psilocybin. Being technically correct doesn't mean anything to them.

Obviously they were just jars of grain in the colonization process. Of course they weren't literally jars of spores.

Hehe, oh fine ruin my math and speculation. I do agree with you though.

But, Thats a good point koala. When its a mushroom bust, there are not horrible chemical names that they can throw out onto the headlines that will really get readers attentions(not to mention try to get people to hate the drug a little more).

So you are right, i'm sure 2300 jars of mushroom "spores" sounds worse than 2300 jars of BRF. Same goes for the word psilocybin, mushroom plants or whatever.

*Bump*

Anyone have any more info on heat in Eugene? I've got a friend that is involved in "the works" there and even though I've talked to him since the time of the posted story (24th I believe?!?) I want to put my mind at ease or possibly give him the heads up in case he needs to keep safe.

Man, if only LEO would focus a bit more and stop busting fun loving hippies and trippies, then they could probably stand a chance against this nations mounting methamphetaine epidemic.

Instead they keep claiming they never saw it coming... :frown:

Could have been mycelium in jars.  If that was the case, it might have been for extraction, because 2,300 jars for growing is fucking insane.  Then again, this is all speculation.
