It sucks that psychedelics do that to so many people. The whole "drop out" thing is so fucking lame. Be a part of what you are, change it from the inside. Be a part of the human race.
Counterculture. What a laugh.

I dunno, that's just a phrase you don't hear often and most pubbers would get really upset if I said it to them. To me, it's completely irrelevent where this thread is; you could've posted it in mush cult for all I care.

Hey, ***edited by rono*** maybe my neurological programming does not permit me the 'satisfaction' of belonging to the human race...?
Maybe there was a slight genotypical mutation which has already seperated me, even if in a subtle manner, from that collective example of organisms called 'Homo sapiens,' ...
If you look at society, or any structured civilizations, you will find flaws... why? Why are there flaws in basically EVERY form of human societal structures? Well, personally, unlike creationists, I believe things in the organic paradigm work by evolution, this is a slow process, and we're not perfect yet. (Can any objective thing be perfect, by definition? -NOTHING- is perfect, and "nothing" certainly isn't objective, ya dig?)
Yet change is the only constant here, so we should lay down our human arrogance with its facade of aptitude and adhere to a policy which is more universally-applicable; acceptance and promotion of change, instead of conscious restraint of due process.
Beeotch. RAH RAH "I hate how psychedelics do that to people" rah rah.
I hate how our neuronal wiring and synapses commonly interpreted as the "self" fails to efficiently exist within the environment from which it received nascence.
You're not a teenager, you don't hang out with the 'trendy' teenager kids, or any teenagers for that matter; I do.
I can see first hand the impending doom of this said species, and if species diversion is necessary for sustainment of carbon-based lifeforms within this temporal existence upon the Earth, then divert I shall.
Counterculture, the human version of species variability, is essential for progress.
Many things which are considered "normal decorum" now were probably once "counterculture," furthermore, you probably indulge in such "normal decorums" all the time.

When I piss on "counterculture" (and piss on it I do), I don't think I'm speaking as much of the broad-minded concept of counterculture as you are. I am speaking to a specific zone, the 60's brand of counterculture, of Timothy Leary telling people to drop out and form their own society, apart from the evil skeeerry mainstream. I believe all that those ideas have done is serve to splinter things further, fracturing society even more. All these brilliant minds, tuned into similar ideals, pulling away, rather than penetrating in. In many cases, it's a waste. Of intellect, of spirit, of ideas, of time.

I find it amazing how in small societies and cultures and stuff, such as like inside a bar or house, alot of the times the main group doesnt actively and collectivly kick out the asshole component, the guy who makes everyone affraid to say anything and always insults everybody and acts like the shit.
Although, you guys here seem to do a pretty good job of it

Nail in the coffin man . I don't want to get away. I want to understand, penetrate the core of society, be somebody. Too many lazy intellectual people turn to psychedelics (in particular) and adopt the Tim Leary attitude.
