that dreaming dejavu thing (some of you will know)

What is that experience, when you are having a conversation with someone and then you realize that you know how the conversation is going to go because you seem to have dreamed it up before. There is an undeniable feeling of having dreamt this situation before you begin to doubt yourself and just label it as "dejavu". Is this the same kind of dejavu that everyone experiences? I think this kind of experience is more common to people who having always had vivid dreams since being a child but you guys may be able to prove me wrong.
Does anyone even know what I mean? It's almost like pre-cognition but you only remember the dream as the real life situation plays out in front of you. It is usually quite shocking and disturbing for me, but also I enjoy the mystery.

I usually go to bed HIGH...and never, ever remebmer anything from my dreams.
I've been doing it like this for going on 4 years. In the meantime I have been metaprogramming my brain for more psychedelic thought, as well as using nootropic compounds to boost my mental abilities.
What I have discovered, is that many events and situations in "real life" have a strange "ive dreamed about this...but I can't quite remember when..." feeling.
Additionally, I have "memories" in my head that I assume really happened; but upon closer mental inspection discover that they were indeed just dreams.
Check my "Could this be considered pre-cog?" thread...I had a pretty intense night last night. (understatment!)

Only you can find the answer to why it's meaningful. It's obvious that people, in general, have these experiences. It's no reason to be confused - use your intuition to understand, if possible.

I'd also like to point out that there is NOTHING to fear at all. We all came from the "oneness" that encompases all...and conversely we all return to the oneness when our lives are over.
The "worst case situation" of death isn't even somthing to be feared! I just hope I can "prepare" myself through my rituals and metaprograming to incarnate into an even greater, more joyfull existance next time 'round

I know exactly what you're talking about, I think.
I have two very distinct forms of deja-vu - one which is a general "I've done this before" feeling, and the other which is a much more specific "I've dreamed this exact situation before".
I've talked to a lot of people about this and most of them appear to only experience the first form of deja-vu, a general feeling that they've done something before. I've only met a few others who talk about the "dream deja-vu" that I think we are talking about in this thread.
One thing I find odd about it is that it never happens with dreams that I remember clearly the morning after I've dreamed them. Those vivid dreams almost never have anything to do with my waking life. Most of the time I don't remember much at all about my dreams, usually just a feeling that I've had a dream and maybe a general idea about what the plot was.
But always when I get this "dream deja-vu" feeling it is from one of my dreams that I haven't recalled clearly - up until the feeling of deja-vu appears. At that moment I am struck with an extremely vivid image in my head of the dream situation and it is always nearly exactly the same as the situation I am in at the time.
Strange stuff, I think. I haven't been able to wrap my head around what this all means yet...

Planing? like chess?
-------------------- "Centuries ago, sailors on long voyages used to leave a pair of pigs on every deserted island. Or ... a pair of goats. Either way, on any future visit, the island would be a source of meat. These islands, they were pristine. These were home to breeds of birds with no natural predators. Breeds of birds that lived nowhere else on earth. The plants there, without enemies they evolved without thorns or poisons. Without predators and enemies, these islands, they were paradise. The sailors, the next time they visited these islands, the only things still there would be herds of goats or pigs. Does this remind you of anything? Maybe the ol' Adam and Eve story? You ever wonder when God's coming back with a lot of barbecue sauce?" Chuck Palahniuk

Yes, Trendal. In fact, when this happens to me, I seem to remember the dream only a few seconds before and while it unfolds. I feel like I had forgotten the dream for many years but at the same time when I had the dream that I knew it would be true.
I read something about it maybe having to do with false memories or a trick of the mind but it doesn't do it for me. Ever since I was a kid and I would experience this, I felt like I was getting ever so small a glimpse of some sort of secret

Wow, when I saw the thread topic, I thought "is this the thing I get every now and then?", and it is!
I've had the dream dejavu thing for as long as I can remember, and as you say, when it happens, you can only remember the dream for the few seconds as it happens, but that's as far as it goes; no memory of the context of the dream or anything.
It's fascinating and whenever it happens I can try for a good hour to remember more but...nothing :<

The thing to fear is that there is nothing to fear.
This has always been, and will be forever.
Deja vu and deja vecu are reference points in the memory databank, and is there to remind you that it is there to remind you.
Deja vu is its own reason. To remember that you remember.
You don't remember anything.
You remember nothing.
Nothing isn't remembered, nothing doesn't happen, nothing isn't.
There is nothing to fear. Nothing doesn't exist.
./SurvivalSystemSurplus
Death doesn't die into nothing. Death is dead.
Life never dies, life is living. Life has forever been and will forever be alive. Life is life.
You are alive.
You are not yourself, nor are you someone else. You are neither yourself, himself, itself, or any self.
You are alive.
You remember.

this has been happening to me all my life and strangely it always happens a lot right before mylife takes a big turn. i believe every deja vu like this (the ones we dream before they happen) is a sign telling you that this is an important point in your life, or that something is going to change around you. like mostly the way you think. at least thats the way for me. it always happens a lot around a big change in my mentality or something.

sometimes I return to the same places in dreams. Often times I create places in the dream world for the specific purpose of returning to them.
I have a lot of cool places in the dream world I like to visit as often as I can, that is, when I am not assisting others in their astral journeys.
Friends of mine say that I pop up in their dreams all the time, usually teaching them to fly or do some other impossible thing

This happens to me on an almost daily basis. I've gotten used to it happening, but when it does, it still throws me off. I just step back, try to remember what else happened, and see where it goes.
One of the scariest occurrences was riding with my mom in the car. Everything came together and it hit me. There was a man riding his bike down the right side of the road. In my dream, a truck hit him. I started freaking out [especially since my mom and I were in the middle of talking about "dejavu"] and waited for him to get hit, but the truck never came. Everything else was exactly the same, color of the sky, cars around, clothes the man was wearing, etc...

Your brain doesn't know the difference between what it sees and what it remembers. Think about it, even as you're seeing something, the next instant it's a memory. Maybe you have done it before.....

This "dreamt deja-vu" can be trained...
I've had various experiences with it throughout my life, as well as some OBE's. About two years ago I stared a 'dream journal'. The goal was to keep a collection [hand written or on Word] of any dreams I had as well as my feelings/ thoughts upon waking*. It's a hard practice to keep, at least for me, because it takes time and patience as soon as you wake up. The practice of this helps to remember more detail of your dreams. I've also found that the more you practice this, it seems, the more dreams you have!
Now on to that Deja vu... If you've kept a dream journal, and one day you get this feeling, it's very handy to go back and look at exactly what was written. Memories are tricky, and sometimes the event has little to do with the actual dream. However, on more than one occasion my dreams have predicted certain events or specific objects. For instance, one of my dreams involved a friend driving a car and wearing a woman's wig. I wrote down all the details of the dream and then forgot about it... Until about two weeks later the same friend from my dream mentioned that he recently got a new car. I got the 'dreamt Deja vu' feeling and consulted the dream journal. And there it was: the car he was driving in my dream was the exact make, model, and color of the car he now had!
The only negative experience I've had with this is that you have to be careful about who you tell these things to. I told my friend about the dream Deja vu and showed him the journal entry, and since has become much less friend-like. Some people just don't have an open mind...
Training yourself to keep a dream journal is easy compared to the task of trying to purposely have or control OBE's. So far I've been unsuccessful in controlling OBE's, but with practiced meditation and extreme mental concentration I have achieved them more often.
*It is important to also keep track of drugs that may be in your system within a few weeks of their ingestion. Not only to keep more accurate record, but to better understand their effects on your sub-consciousness as well
...whew, I hope that makes some sense

yeah, I know. don't remember as often as I should, but what can I say? I like to be surprised.
my higher self is a little more aware of the big picture than me, and we don't always see eye to eye. But that will soon change.
for instance, I have often appeared to others in disguise, and told them to do things I really don't want them to do.
These days, I appear more often as myself, with an honest message. The more I reconcile with my higher self, the more this tends to happen. I hope it stays that way, because I'm tired of double-crossing myself.

Yes, telling people about precog abilities, seeing auras, or telepathy is not always the best idea.
Many people that even belive in these phenomenon will distance themselves out of fear. They are scared you "know more" about them...
I just quietly observe nowdays...and if someone else tells me about their abilities; then i'll divulge mine.
Otherwise it can lead to people not trusting you.

Since then I've learned to do the same. It's best to assume everyone has a closed mind, for your own relations and for the other people.
Simply observing people can sometimes be enlightening too.
