I'd suggest 1-3cc of spore solution for a 1 qt jar.
As far as the LC myc growth, maybe a cloud the size of a few green grapes? If you shake it before you aspirate the LC with a syringe you can break it up well. Even better is to use a magnetic stirrer becaues then the solution is very slurry-ish and you're guaranteed to get myc into every jar you use that syringe on.

Nice job on the LC jars but I'm a bit concerned about the tubing. That looks like polyvinyl or something. That won't melt while PCing? Also, how did you seal the tube to the lid?
Good deal on the magstirrers. I LOVE mine.
shroomerite writes: "How many quarts of WBS could I knock up with 4 oz of LC?"
4oz is over 100cc. If you figure each qt jar needs only two, maybe three cc each, a few dozen.
"Also does anyone know where to get longer needles for my syringe? "
Can't help you there but with that kind of jar setup you can just aspirate LC by tilting it to the side.

That's a waste of spore solution. 1 drop is plenty. Each drop contains thousands of spores, which is more than enough. You would do fine to use even less than that, but there's no easy way to measure less than one drop.
The more you inject the higher your chances of contamination unless you have a perfectly clean spore syringe, which is unlikely. Even good "uncontaminated" spore syringes will likely have a stray contam or two floating in them. The more you inject the more likely that you'll inject one of the few contams in a syringe.
As for longer needles... I wish you could get them easily, but I haven't ever found any. 1.5 inch is pretty standard and about the longest I've been able to find. You can get a cannula, which can be pretty long. I've seen those as long as 4-5 inches. They work great.

OK, so I did a test. I put about 1.5 inches of water in a med size saucepan and boiled on HIGH for 15 min. The tubing was soft but still very strong. I see no problems with PC'ing the jars. Yay for me as those took me a while to make and I have no other tubing to use.

Frankly, I'm more concerned about toxicity.
