Was wondering if this casing is alright and if it is ready to go into the fruiting chamber. It has a funky smell, so I hope it is not mold. What do you guys all think? Thanks!

I can see the top is not fully colonized, which is what you want when placing into fruiting conditions, but why aren't the bottom and sides fully colonized? Something isn't right. You want to allow your substrate to colonize fully, then apply the casing layer to the top only. It looks like I can see your large verm all the way around. What kind of procedure did you use? RR

Casing 101, wait till it is fully colonized? Won't that cause overlay or am I misunderstanding?

Now I am a bit confused on if I did this casing correctly. I did the 60/40 coir verm casing with the casing 101 method. The picture displayed is 5 days later and I was wondering if that is ready for the fruiting chamber and if it looks alright. It smells kind of sweet and I am not sure if that is a mold smell d=-(
