WTF!!! ID PLZ

I have never been so freaked out! Heres the story: One day i decide to go out on the hunt for some hpoo and brought myself back a nice bag. I put the poo into these tupperware containers for storage. I kept one of these containers up on a shelf with the lid off for it to dry out. I left it there for at least a month and today i went up on that shelf to get something and i couldent believe my eyes. I saw long stems with small caps on the top. I didnt know what the hell was going on. where did they come form? what are they growing on? did someone put them there? Heres a couple of pics. Anyone know what they are?
They have grey gills and seem to have dropped their spores which look black.

If not for the small size, I would say Panaeolus semiovatus. God put them there.

Yeah those look like Pans, but most members of the genus are not active. The species I mentioned is not active.

These look rather big for Panaeolus semiovatus. Plus these have brown scaly lookin caps.

Look again man. Half-egg pans get bigger than those little guys. That is a plastic cup right? Or is it a garbage can?

zeegos "where did they come form? what are they growing on? did someone put them there?"
??? They came from the poop. You gathered some poo and in or on it there must have been some spores- maybe even some mycellium. You set it on a shelf, and it grew mushrooms.... They are growing on poop! No, of course no one put them there

That is so rad. I have no idea what they are, I am very surprised to see a veil and makes me doubt any thoughts I have on the ID. The caps are so shiny. Damn thats cool.

Those are very interesting mushrooms... the environment where a mushroom is grown can have a tremendous effect on appearance. Compare wild collected Flammulina velutipes with commercially grown “Enokitake”. This could be a well known and common species of Panaeolus displaying out of the ordinary macroscopic characteristics… semiovatus perhaps. Maybe you would consider passing it along to your friendly local mycologist just for fun.

Man, if they were cyans, id be going to church every sunday Iv never seen mushrooms like these b4 in my local area. I guess it was just the change in atmosphere which induced the growing. I misted the soil to up the water content cuz i wanna see more of these bad boys It was such a wierd discovery which just shocked the hell outa me. I even got a mirror to see what the hell was goin on b4 going up there (cant really see without climbing up)

I was wondering if someone were to just go out and collected large amounts of poo from random cow/horse fields if they could then do somehting with the 'stuff' ie. plant it in yard/mix with mulch/straw etc. I was wondering if they could get something going using that technique? Meby set the stuff in some garage or basement to just sit for a while? Anyone ever try this?

Panaeolus sphinctrinus form the horse manure.
Also P. semiovatus is acvtually P. antillarum, white caps and no ring at all.
Usually the P. sphinctrinus has a flat ring attached which is not rounded like in your image. But thety are of the P. sphinctrinus complex. Common in horse manure.

well if i can do that by accident, im sure you can go out, collect some manure for a place where mushrooms grow and do the same as me. A spore print can then be taken and you could figure out where to go from there.
